Are my FKS done?

So i've had my fks mounted on two diff pairs of lizzies over the past two years. Ive put over 300 days on the bindings in this time. I ride hard, but i take very good care of my equipment. I ride at a DIN of 11. I've popped out of them maybe 15 times total the past two years. All times that I should have, never pre-released. I recently bought a new pair of boots which have a 307 bsl instead of 301. Upon adjusting to this new length, i ran into a few questions about my bindings. I knew some of the issues were there, but its never affected how well these badass bindings have worked

So here are my questions:

Here are pictures of the left and right ski. Both bindings are mounted perfect, they are the same distance apart, but the arm lengths of one ski are longer than the other. Both forward pressures are set correctly. The white tab lines up w/ the marks. Is this a big deal or not? I think it may have to do w/ some of the other issues im going to mention

Right

This little area, each circular piece that goes around the screw part, not on the arm, but the circular piece on thats flush w/ the heelpiece are cracked, or half missing. The bindings wiggle a ton, but again, once im locked in, they dont really move at all and has never effected how the bindings worked. Is this an issue?

Also the screws have indents in them on each side where the arm has pushed up against it for 2 years, is this an issue? Also where the arm meets the base of the binding, you know where that silver circle rivet type thing is? there is movement there too. About a mm of play.

Lastly, w/ my forward pressures set correctly, the boots sit differently in the heel when clicked in. The toe pieces are in perfect condition and the boots are brand new. Obvisously it makes sense that the arms that are adjusted longer like mentioned before is on the ski w/ more room by the boot. Again, i know my forward pressure is set correctly. Is this a big deal?

Left ski - arms adjusted smaller

Right ski - arms adjusted larger

Thanks for any help

i have those binders also and have come to the conclusion that they are indestructable. that however looks like bad news. your best bet is no doubt going to a shop and have a professional check it out and see if he can do anything about it.

ive come to the realization that everyshop i went to in summit, grand county in CO as well as all shops around the twin cities area in MN dont know shit about fks. And the ones that do, look at me like im fucking crazy or retarted for having fks on non-race skis that are 110 wide. Then they give me some lie about how they are toast and i should get new ones. But then i coninued to ski hard on them another 100 days w/ no issues. So i give up on shops.

i know, i think its pretty common, im not worried about it at all. i dont live in CO anymore, so no more cliffs, and i dont hit 70ft jumps so i think the screws will hold, its been like that for a year.

i have mine mounted on my reno jibs, and i have all the same issues as you except the last one with the distance between the boot and heel when not clicked in, but mine still feel solid and indestructable.

It looks like your half moon peice is cracked in one picture. . . .

But for the forward pressure thing, how do you know they are set correctly? It seems like having the forward pressure on the arms set differently would create weird torq.

I think the binders are bombproof, as long as stuff isnt falling apart. I have an old pair with the geze toepeice and the plastic halfmoon peices have broken and the plastic on the very back of the turntable peice (no pictures right now) keeps on falling off, regardless of the amount of superglue I use. Luckily they are more for parts than actual skiing.

no i haven't tried there, ive heard good things about their shop though. its a little bit of a drive for me, ill try and check it out when i have time.

to all: i know my half moon piece is cracked, its been like that for a year, i dont really think that has any effect on what im wondering about though

Thanks for any help or experiences that are similar to mine, much appreciated, +k to you guys

yo im having the same problem with my bindings. the half moon piece is missing on one and they jiggle around a ridiculous amount. anyone know of this being common in older fks heel pieces?

new half m0on pieces are availible for 25 bucks. with my expierience forward pressure ismore of a guideline then a deffinite with fks style bindings.

if they are busted i will buy the heel pieces off you, im looking for a few parts so hit me up when you know.

your half moons look metal which are super hard to break but still shouldnt be aproblem. i took mine with plastic moons one of them cracked to my shop and they mounted up eithout a worry they said all they are for is for sitting the brakes on and both heels still rotate fine. also i looked at mine and the arms are off by a mm or two based on the notches. all the fp are correct and havent had any problems yet. as far as the rotating thing where the arm screws are i have no clue...

thanks for the replies, ive skied them pretty hard for about 10 days since adjusting them for my new boots and they've done fine. didn't ever pop out, though there wasn't ever a fall or reason to.

i asked this in another thread, but do the new fks brakes w/ baseplates they're selling over the phone work w/ the old fks? i know brakes have nothing to do w/ my issues, but itd be nice to have brakes for the first time in a couple years.

thanks

judging by the pics all i can say is you need a new metal half moon piece on the left heel piece, that one looks cracked.

dude, do you know that your half moon piece is cracked?
but seriously, i am pretty sure the new brakes are interchangeable with the older ones but im not 100% sure.

that crack is not that big of a deal like i said my shop said it was ok to have a crack. the piece just sits flat its not the end of the world if its cracked. i wouldnt pay 70 canadian for that part considering ive bought entire pairs for cheaper

take them to a shop with the proper equipment and have them tested. other than that i really dont know what else to say. if the forward pressure is good then you should be fine.
