Are black crows actually stiff

Idk I have this idea in my head that all black crows are stiff camber sticks that only ski well while wearing a $7000 Bogner kit while skiing at Chamonix. But I’m curious about how they ride in reality and not just in my brain world. Are they fun?

In my experience they have a pretty wide variety of designs. They don't seem to experiment with materials much but they definitely do some interesting shapes.

I own a pair of Camox's and they are medium stiffness, lots of camber (tons of pop) and actually pretty fun in the park, definitely a great jump ski. Mounted at -2cm they can still butter and are a great east coast AM ski for a more park-oriented style.

My dad has a pair of Corvus's and they are stiff, directional and reverse camber, but I've never skied them.

I demoed a pair of Mirus Cor's and they were super weird and insanely fun, very soft, easy to butter, 13m turning radius, almost no camber, honestly had zero confidence trying to do pretty much anything on them but it was stupid fun. Weird in a good way, if money were no object they'd be my 10th pair of skis lol.

I'd love to try the Anima and Nocta, they look like nice medium flex twin tipped pow skis but again never ridden them

Not all of them are stiff. The camox and Mirus cor are butter

Depends on the ski. Corvus and Justis are pretty stiff. I rode the Atris last week and that was upper medium stiff. Held an edge really really well for what it is. The Camox is similar to the ARV 96

@vrooom Has some black crows captis , and i have an old pair of the captis birdies used for park, they honestly dont have a lot of camber on them, and we both use them for park. The noses are decently soft, but the tails are a little stiff. I did one run last year on them and cracked an edge, but they hadn't been used in a while, and i did smash my skis into the rails

Honestly a fun ski, the carving is super nice, and very fun on jumps

The Nocta is a pretty floppy reverse camber ski, it's loose and awesome in pow or anything remotely soft and will get you back to the lifts just fine on hardpack.

bought a pair of noctas on sale on evo a couple seasons ago and theyre deadass some of the funnest skis ive ridden. too fat for most days but just stiff enough to rip hard and soft enough to be kinda buttery and fun

The noctas look hella valid, that’s probably the ski I would rip if I were to get some… the new Powder Hunting edition is fresh as hell

I have the same questions and sentiment about DPS skis

I’ve been on some koala 103s last season and this season and they’re so fun. They carve so well and are actually really poppy and buttery as well. They also ski switch great

Oh and I’ve also been blown away by the durability all around. Took a massive chunk of base out last year right next to the edge and they’re still chillen. Can’t speak on rail durability though

bigtime valid. i got mine for $450 on an evo spring sale. model from 2 years prior, one of the dankest sales ive found. shouts out evo lol

The Camoxs are dank ass skis. Rode them for 2 seasons all mountain and park and I absolutely loved them. Compared to other park skis, I'd say they're slightly on the stiffer side in the tails and normal-soft in the noses. They pop and carve amazingly and are sick jump skis. A bit heavy for quick rail tricks, but if you're riding fast like you should be and not trying 1000 swaps they're amazing. Super durable too -- I never cracked an edge and skied them hard.

Interesting to read many here like the Camox, wich is in my opinion the worst of their models.. Material / tech wise BCs are not that interesting, but the shapes and flexes are paired well. For their tech they depend on their factories and what they are allowed to use by the big brands that own those factories ;)

Hell ya Bacons are a treat! the Cor's are dumb quick edge to edge and have big ol shovels of tips n tails. I demoed a pair on classic east coast dust on crust but i bet they go stuuupid in the slush.

Just picked up a pair of used camoxs and had to jump back here, not the stiffest skis ever, but absolute springboards, trampoline level pop

Dps is overrated asf, soft ass powder skis for rich old guys with a once a year hut trip in BC.

DPS actually makes some really good skis it’s just the models you usually see people skiing are soft and expensive. There are some really good skis that are more hard snow oriented, I may or may not be writing a roof box review for a couple of them

Yeah honestly whatever ski I was on, in powder performed well, it was just super easy to get backseat and wash out in the gnar. The second they hit any type of on-piste skiing they ski awful like a really shitty 122. In deep pow 8/10 pow gnar 7/10 on groomers/ anything requiring speed. 3/10. I have my bias, id rate a 117 kore 10/10
