Are 189 Surface One Lifes to big for me

Noss.

Recently I got a pair of 189 one lifes and now i am scared they are too big.

I am 5,9 (still growing)

160 pounds

Expert skier

Have 182, 177 skis

I have heard because the rocker is so big that i will be fine but i dont know what to do?

Help me out!

Thanks!

are u sure?

I think ill keep em, i really want to ride them in park, sounds like so much funs

considering the only part that makes contact with the snow is the flat part underfoot most of the time and you're still growing and you want to ride them in the park and powder................ go ahead with the 189.

You'll have only 90cms of contact area.

I have them, 189. I'm 6'2", 175lbs. they're fine for me. but i'm different for height.

Just remember they have an 8 degree rocker. super stiff, cant stress the stiffness. they'll give you the duper your looking for

ive never ridden the one life, but they are SO stiff! i just dont see you the would be fun in a length like that.

yours aren't even mounted and you never rode them before buying them, how do you know they will work for you?(even tho they will)

and OP, OLs and LL2s measure short(186 not 189), and with the hude rocker they ski super short

I'm about your size: 160, 5'10, and ride the LL2's in a 189.

Though the super scientific hand flex test tells me that the one live feels a tad stiffer that the LL2, the ski it is a short 189 and with that amount of rocker it rides like a much shorter ski. You should definitely not have a problem maneuvering them.

never mind, im completely wrong. i just realized that the leng my buddy has is 189 and yeah, they really are like a 185/186

OK!

So i got to my local store and have a talk about them and everyone is saying they are too long and a better size would be 179. Also I dont a very stiff ski which is why I am thinking about selling these....

I need more opinions of the flex/stiffness

I also am unsure about the size

p.s. i am 5,10 now

The only people who should ride these in 179 are little girls with one leg. They're stiff but not too stiff by any means. To put it into perspective, my 14 yr old brother took some runs on my 189s and charged with em.

Last season I was about 5'7" and I have 179 ll2's. They work for me but I really wish I had got 189's. The contact area is really small and I can imagine that the extra length would mean I could charge even harder on them! You will be fine with 189s and don't let anyone talk you out of them

As far as the stiffness goes, they are the perfect flex imo. Coming off of invaders and planks, I was afraid that the ll2's would be too stiff. They are pretty stiff underfoot but because of the huge amount of rocker, they are easy to jib and butter

Size is good for you. Skis with that much rocker ski super short, and its really easy to pivot, smear, and move around. I'm an inch taller than you and I ski 191 Wrens which are much stiffer, and use to own 189 bents which are a lot longer & heavier than your One lifes.

179 might be a bit better for park, but its gonna be a lot worse for everything else, like the skiing pow, stability @ speed ,dropping cliffs ect which is a lot more important for a ski like that.

good cause i got mine yesterday and i was worried they might be a tad bit to stiff but im still stoked for charging with them

i have 189 unmounted that i have never skied and may sell, but skied a friends pair for an entire week trip and slayed with them and I'm only 5'9

your dick size has no correlation to how many inches above your head your skis are, just remember that, pick somthing that you think you will be able to handle

Noss I think you made a typo in your OP, you weigh at least 260 pounds :)

GO for them man, I'm looking for something in the 190 range and alot of them aren't nearly as large as you would assume, but they are still big. Get 'em mang.
