April Trip

Gonna take a trip out west in April, was wondering what mountains have seen the best snowfall this year. Between Tahoe and A-Basin right now but am open to anything if the snowpack is good enough. Gonna be mid-April.

A Basin just broke 150 inches on the season so manage your expectations if you end up going to Summit

Pretty sure most of California is having a terrible winter. All the resorts around Tahoe are showing high 50's to high 60's percent of average snowfall. Summit county resorts doing better, mid to high 80's compared to average. Crested Butte is above average, not sure what you're looking to ski. Most of the Utah resorts are at about 80. If you're willing to go far west, Hood and most of the WA resorts are just a couple of points under average.

Anyways, looks like Colorado, Northern NM (Taos), Northern Idaho and Montana (not big sky) and the PNW are all doing okay snow-pack wise. Kinda surprised bc I was in summit county a week and a half ago and it felt like a low snow year.

Taos and Southern Colorado are decently doing well (at least since mid-february, anyways) but basically everywhere closes early april.

I'd consider the PNW and Snowbird. Maybe someone from those areas can chime in?

Wolf Creek is sitting at 101" midway with 361 inches so far this year. Place is underrated and very affordable.

If your committed you could run Wolfcreek/Purgatory/Telluride.

Purg and Telluride close April 3rd. Wolf Creek closes April 17th so it depends on when OP is going.

Gonna be going April 7th, Wolf Creek looks great but it’s a bit difficult to get to since I won’t have a car. Thinking about Park City because of ease of access it’s just so damn expensive.

Was thinking Big Sky, didn’t know it had bad snowpack. Has anyone skied Bridger Bowl? Looks easy to get too and affordable. Trying to ski mostly big mountain park doesn’t matter as much.
