will never happen. they'd have to redesign the entire software and hardware internals because of the CDMA system that verizon is on rather than a sim card based system like just about any other phone provider in the US...I am a verizon customer and would love to see it happen but I'll stick to my droid 2 and cry.
 
Your silly because they've have openly been working on this for a while now. They were recently in the testing process and it's slated for a 2011 delivery. Rejoice Verizon Owners. I'm gettin a job at a verizon store to bank off that goldmine.
 
verizon iphone is definitely not it... that will be coming next june at the soonest. the real thing to look forward to is a second gen ipad! but im thinking this whole deal tomorrow might just be because of the beatles.

i actually heard rumors about this a while back, and i even think i saw a post on gizmodo about one. i personally think one of these would be absolutely AWESOME!

Otherwise, i praaaaaaaaaaaay that like mentioned before, that they will release unlimited downloads for like 20$ a month. every ski movie here i come!

 
there has been zero press releases by apple to back up that statement and this whole theory was born and raised in the rumor mill. sure, fortune mag has said it exists and that it is configured to work for the CDMA network but still, no releases or talks by apple. they have been trying this since the 3g came out and they haven't delivered since. I'll be pumped if this does happen but I'm not holding my breath.
 
I would be so pumped if this were the case...but if they are hyping the release of the Beatles on itunes this much I am going to be pissed
 
If it had been Google, I would have been much more inclined to agree.

Apple is, for the time being, a consumer product company.

Google is doing scary amounts of shit though.
