Anyone else think this is an amazing film. So good on so many levels. And so many scenes that were done so well like the helicopter scene, the openeing scene to "the end" and the sacrifice/killing scene at the end....and the shit that brando says in the extended cut is crazy

Coppola's best work by far. Definately one of the best 'nam flicks too. My favorite character is the crazy long haired photographer guy. Hes got the best quotes.

i'm pretty sure it was based on "heart of darkness" by joseph conrad...

still though, its a great movie, especially since they were basically rewriting the script every day right before shooting.
