Anyone want $200?

What's good Colorado.
It's pretty simple, do you want $200 to help me out?
I'm British and was in Breck for the 08/09 Winter renting an apartment from a 'reputable' company owned and operated by one individual.
My lease was from November 1st 2008 to April 18th 2009. I had to leave on April 4th due to school commitments back home, so I was unable to retrieve my security deposit and overpaid rent/utilities.
Since I left I have been trying to get back the money owed to me, with no luck, I have supplied a UK USDollar account which was supposedly wrong due to the swift code, I've also given her a US account through First Bank in FL, apparently the name on the account was wrong so they couldn't send it. I have also suggested Paypal, but apparently the site won't let them open an account.
I have been emailing and calling frequently since I left but hadn't heard from her since October 09, however I was calling and emailing weekly, then on the 13th April I get an email from them telling me that they need closure and I have made this far too difficult. They want to give me my money after 13months, I reply asking her how they want to do this and I haven't heard anything back. I'm still calling and mailing to provoke a response.
Would anyone be willing to receive the full amount to their account and then paypal me everything-$200 which would be for your troubles. It's a pretty substantial amount and is needed so badly right now by me, due to wedding plans.
Now, I understand this is a bizarre scenario and would leave me open to get stung by you taking the full amount, but I would rely on karma and good will to see this through.
Sorry for the long post and I hope one of you can help.
If you have any advice then I'd love to hear it.
Easy,Roger

let me get this straight -

you need a bank account in the states that someone on here (potentially me, right?) has so the real estate agent/rental company can put YOUR money in? and then have the person who owns the bank account (me again) will pay pal you all the money?

sounds simple i guess but dont get how thats legal. at all. unless its a real shady agent.

i dont get how you couldnt just fix the name on that original first bank account and have them send it again?

my bank is first bank. in silverthorne.

this sounds like one of those craigslist scams. only know 'cause I was very close to falling for one.

The story written above is a very simple telling of the story, I don't wish to give away every bit of information on this case to everyone who may read this.
I ask a question, do you really think I would be pleading with an online community if it was as simple as changing the name on the original account?I don't have an American account, I came over for the Winter with a set amount of cash saved up, I wasn't working so had no need for an American account. The account I first tried to use to get the money returned to me was my Grandfathers, who runs an international Stationary company dealing regularly with the US, all of the details given to the rental company were correct with no fault, she claims there was.The second account used was a close family friends, who owns property in FL and uses their account to pay bills and the like, all of the details supplied were correct, though I was informed that they weren't.
I am at a loss, I came here to seek assistance in getting this money returned to me, offering to make it worth your while. I see how you could read this, I understand how this could be interpreted as a scam but I am an honest person trying to reclaim what is mine.
With regards to the legalities of this, I am not a law student and don't know the in depth working of the US legal system, but isn't withholding $**** from a tenant the real legal issue? If you have a better solution to this then please offer me your advice, how does a small claims court work in the US, I have read up a little on them, but it is far more complex than our UK system.
Thank you to all the members offering me your help, I am going to try and work it through with a member on here, I'm so grateful for your openness to help a stranger.
Thank you to 40.

The part that doesn't make sense to me is how they could just put money into an account in my name if they couldn't put it into an account with your name wrong...I'd help if you could tell me exactly what I would have to do and I could talk to you on the phone.

yea its real complicated. you file a paper with the clerk of courts. period. the defendant pays the money plus court costs if they lose or dont show.

i mean, the original post was obviously copy/pasted from somewhere else. and the way you are trying to do things is what lawyers like to call "laundering money"

give the name of the rental company and this will pretty much all be resolved. ive rented from 7 different agencies in summit. name one.

Have to tried to do this when you are not a citizen of the USA, have a State address or any contact information related to America? I'm guessing not right, things get way complicated and it turns out to be almost impossible, I have been trying for 5months to achieve the courts solution, with no success. Thanks for the advice though, real productive.
The term 'money laundering' relates to money being used as part of organized crime, transferring money to evade tax restrictions or avoiding the correct routes. If you had agreed to assist me, or at least explore the situation further, you would found that I can be far more specific than I have been in this thread, I can give you exact figures, dates and justifications of the reasoning behind this.
It was cut and paste due to me really having to put some thought in to this, writing online would have resulted in a rush and even more untrustworthy piece of writing. I wrote in Open office and transferred it across, I hope you can understand that.
I understand the dodgy factor, but at the end of the day, I have been played here and I came here for assistance, I am so thankful to the kind people who stepped forward and offered their advice and help.
Thank you for all the thoughts
