Anyone tried the contour HD?

anyone knows how it stacks up to the go pro HD? they claim 1080p but alot of people do and suck?? ++k for help
 
check out some of the george porteous videos on vimeo. the helmet cams are with the contour. the only downer with the contour is the lack of mounting options.
 
the real question is, have you ever tried the searchbar? There's plenty of good threads about it.

But my other friend has a go pro and he used to have a contour and says he likes his go pro more
 
^^ Word. Totally worth the money. I got a GoPro HD and it's the best 300 investment I've ever made.
 
Hello!! Contour here.. we're biased but we think our cameras are awesome. It is true 1080HD but we've got other options too. 960 tall, 720 at 60fps and more. Our new camera has GPS built in in case you want to map your speed and runs. If not, the HD is a great option.

main difference you'll be able to see is the wideness of the lense. 135 (contour) vs 170 (gopro). In a nutshell, the gopro is going to look more stable because it has a wider lense, but quality wise, the two are pretty similar. I find watching headcam footage from the gopro easier on the eyes because of this wide view. It mimics what i see out of my eyes, seeing all around rather than closing in on a smaller area
If you aren't solely mounting the camera on your helmet, the gopro will be more versatile and you will find yourself filming more and more with it outside of skiing as well
 
ok so the gopro is only 127 in 1080p......

anyone know if the 135 on the contour is for 720 or 1080?
