Anyone tried blade optic 104?

Im looking for a wider, strong freestyle allmountain ski.

Thinking about line blade optic 104.

Anyone tried it?

I wasn't impressed when I demoed them last year. For the kind of ski I feel like when you roll it over on edge it just doesn't respond like many "heavy-hard charging" skis should. IMO just underwhelming

Line never claimed it to be a "heavy-hard charging" type of ski. Sure there's titanal in the core but that doesn't always have to mean stiff or hard charging. It's purely there for dampening properties and to turn a very freestyle shape into something that can still hold up when hitting bigger lines. Best example is a guy like Jonnie Merill who had a ton of input into that ski, look at the way he rides.

With that said, the ski is incredibly fun for its intended design. I enjoyed that you don't get tossed around when hitting a big hit and then have to ski out through a chopped up apron.

I also was unimpressed.

I skied it just to see how it felt underfoot, with no notion of looking for a particular type. It was uninspired and seemed like the ski that didn’t do anything super well, without offering a reason to be a do-it-all option.

very meh, much bleh

What do you usually ski?

When I worked for Faction I was usually on the CT3.0 or 5.0, though the new Gen. Prodigy 3.0 was also a good ski.

for flat tail skis, I have the Salomon Blank as a damp option (not the most fun ski, but it holds an edge well and mounting it +4 def. livened it up).

I skied the new (though pretty much unchanged) Black Ops 98, was a good all-rounder. I did blindly order the ARW 106 UL (never demoed it)… hoping I like it..

I love them. I honestly did not like them at all at first but they are definitely one of my favorite skis now. Hold up so well on bigger lines / cliffs. Even in deep snow they are so powerful and hold up well.
