Anyone that's had 1080's and now has Full Tilts

I have size 28.5 1080's that after 5 years have effectively, shit the bed. I have been eyeing full tilts for a while and tried on 29's which were way too big. I measured my foot for a 27 or 10.5 shoe. Anyone else in about this size range that can tell me how the full tilts fit? Please don't tell me to go try them on because the closest shop that carries them is over 6 hours away. You would think a shop in CNY, most ski "resorts" in the US, would have full tilts.

i wear a ten and a half shoe, and the 11/29mondo full tilts fit pretty much fine.

but i got lucky and i have super skinny feet/ankles/calves.

well, it sounds like you have no idea what size you really are. thats gonna be the most important thing to get figured out. if you measure a legit 27, thats what you should be in. they fit similar to the kryptons if you can try those on, but they are lighter. its a much snugger boot than 1080s. if you have mid-narrow feet, a normal instep and a thin ankle, youll be good. if not, they may still work, but youll want to try them on.

if you wear a 10.5 shoe, you shouldnt be in a size 11 boot. you shouldnt be in a size 10 boot. Most likely a 9. We all buy shoes for comfort, a ski boot is for performance. It's essentially a cast. Any movement of your foot inside results in lack of control. Iwear a 10.5/11 shoe depending on the shoe, measure right at 29 on any Braddock, and i wear a size 26 boot and will never look back. 27's feel huge. get sized properly, get used to boot break-in, and realize how much control you have over the ski. Stop buying HUGE BOOTS! 29 shells are for dudes with size 14 feet.

27/27.5 is the same as a size 9,

keep in mind when shell fitting this boot your dealing with a very thin liner (especially once it gets molded), so your going to want to be in a 1 finger shell fit (give or take), If you have a wider fitting foot, you can step up in size a bit, but no more then a two finger fit. Your going to want just less then a single finger of space width wise in the shell. So if you move your foot to the inside of the boot with the heel all the way to the back, you want to have about a finger of space from the ankle to your toes, between the outside edge of the shell and your foot. If you just have a couple spots that are too narrow, (ankle points out more, or bunion) these can be fixed with some shell work.

Also since you say you don't live close to a boot fitter I would strongly urge you not to get full tilts, since they will have a very generic fealing fit until that liner gets molded. Also, molding an intuition liner is very different then the standard 'heat molding' of most liners. If not done correctly it can mess the liner and your fit up pretty well.

i see where your coming from, but my dad's feet are one size bigger than mine and he couldn't ever get in to my camos (he also has thin feet.)

i guess it all comes down to being fitted. i am educated enough to know if a boot fits, and educated enough to know what will happen if they don't, so when i say a size 11 boot works for me, it's not out or ignorance.

I wear a size 10 new balance, a size 11 circa, a size 9.5 nike, and a size 10.5 etnies.

my full tilts are 26. they dont come in half sizes. They fit narrow, and you can customize them a ton. If you were in a salomon, and felt they fit like a slipper, full tilts might work for you. But get fitted at a shop or dont buy them. Seriously.

Guys, I know how to fit a boot. Better than anyone around here. I am a size 26.5 in Technica and 27.5 in Salomons. I did not buy the 28.5's and I have not had any money to get new boots in years. I am looking for testimonials on sizing of the Full Tilts because I have no way of getting them sized around here so if it's not too much trouble, could someone please give me a response to my question?

Oh and just so you guys know, there is no conversion from mondo to US sizes so please stop saying it does. You can estimate it all you want, but there is no exact size. Mainly because every company measures different which is the main reason I posted this thread asking for advice relating to full tilt sizing and comparisons.

Sorry if I didn't make the thread title more clear.

If you have owned 1080's and now own Full Tilts, please tell me what sizes you had and any other pertinent information related to these boots.

Hit up untracked.com return label thing. You order two pairs of boots, and send back the ones that don't fit in a previously paid for box.

ok, I tried to be nice and helpful but you had to act the fool. so here we go.

techinca size 26/26.5 305mm

Salomon size 27/27.5 315-317

you have no fucking idea how to fit boots.

and as a general rule of thumb for mondo sizes in the 20's just add the two numbers togeather and you get the US size, Which is ok, because US sizes are general too. so for example a 25 is a US size 7. A 27.5 is a US size 9. to get women US sizing or UK sizing (nordica plug shells) take one off the mens size. so a 28 = US 10 = WMNS 9 = UK 9,

but like you said it is just a general idea as all boots are variable, and thats why we check the bsl, and do shell fits.

I wear a size 10 NIKE running shoe. (my foot measures about 9 and 3/4's on a brannock device) so i have a pinch of room in the toe. i wear 26.5 fulltilts konflicts WITH footbeds and they fit perfect.

Dude, you might be fucked. Solly 1080 boots fit me fine, save they were a size too big and gave me terrible boot bang, accordingly.

Moved to Full Tilt Bumblebees, and fuck me. Whole new set of problems, mainly because my larger foot just does not fit well with the toebox. They reduce the bang on the front of my shins, but I have KILLER pain in the back after a day of skiing. I guess its the flex point, cant or angle of roll in my foot with the new boots.

That being said, I'm probably going to sell mine once I have enough cash to get new Langes or something more apt to my foot. I'll always stay with a power wrap though, that shit is heavenly.

I will say one thing when sizing boots. Get the shell as small as you can and go to a good bootfitter. The snugger the boot the better control you have over your ski. I used to have 29 shell 1080 boots and now i have size 27.5 shell krypton pros. Very big difference. I lost at first too because the mondo size conversion chart is kind of wrong. Plus i would bet 85% of everyone saying they have problems fitting boots on this thread are wearing shoes too big. When we buy shoes we get whats comfortable where as ski boots are completely different.
