Anyone sitting in their car waiting to get into t-line

What’re peoples thoughts on the gondola between Govy and Timberline? Been proposed and delayed for years but now that Timberline bought Summit that seems like a perfect base station for it so it now doesn’t have to go over homes like it was going to based out of Collins Lake.

Less of a shitshow on the road/parking, but most likely longer lift lines once you funnel more people up there. Pros and cons. Personally I feel like once the parking lot is filled the ski area is filled is as “fair” as you can get, and keeps lift lines somewhat reasonable, and I like how very little development happens in Govy currently

When I left at noon there was a line of cars halfway down T-line road. Every open piece of shoulder from the lower lot to again about halfway down had cars parked on it. People were walking up.
 
got there at 8:50 and were about 30 cars from the top, still didn't get in till 10. On the bright side lift lines down at the park weren't nearly as bad as the past 2 weekends

This is insane to me, is it just the holiday? What is motivating such a ridiculous amount of people to go skiing? ppl literally left portland at like 6am probably, to ski hard pack til at least 11am...

But has it ever been like this before? I've been to hood in may many and its never busy, crazy how the amount of skiers in Portland probably doubled in the last year, maybe more.
 
There's also a big race event going on. Lines aren't that crazy.

Also lol it's definitely not hardpack it's hot as fuck this morning groomers are poppin.

Yah, there is a metric fuckton of midgets in spandex. They are all running off Pucci, so the rest of the lift lines were pretty chill.

Anyone see Sammy grabbing some laps with his pops yesterday? I recognize his dad more easily than I do Sammy.

Nah, I dont remember it ever being this bad. Pass sales this year broke records for all hood resorts cause it was the only thing people could do near portland with covid restrictions. The timberline lots were closing before 8am most weekends during January/February and lift lines on weekdays werent too much better
 
I was stuck in that mess Satuday. Got up early yesterday to avoid it

Were any of you guys in the part of the line that got heated as fuck? All these people started driving up the left side of the road, and dude in front of me was not having it and pulled his car out to create a roadblock. This made like a 3 lane clusterfuck where all sorts of people were screaming and banging on the windows of the people who were trying to cut everybody. I thought a huge fight was about to break out but somehow it dissipated after a few minutes. Shit was crazy, people were losing their god damn minds

dang this is a bummer to hear, never been to hood but people always talk about how good the vibes are there. maybe it's different when the summer szn starts?

Vibe on the hill is fine. Vibe on the road is and always has been trash. Everyone thinks they are entitled to get up the road no matter what time they slept in till. Simply not the case.
 
How was the road today. Was actually thinking about going until I saw this thread and worried I didn't get up early enough.
 
No race event today so it was much chiller. I showed up at like 7:45 and got mid lot but I don't think the lot filled.
