Anyone shred Volkl Ledges or Atomic Punx?

i had this years punx and i absolutely loved them but durability was definitaly an issue, the top sheet held up better than previous punx mainly because they are cap now,but my edges took a beating and i have a bunch of edge cracks, this may have been partially my fault but regardless they are no the most durable edges.

ok thanks dude

My friend has the 2013 Ledges so I don't know if they have changed since, but he liked the performance quite a bit, though they are on the stiffer side when you first get them (akin to the Punx). After about 25 days of riding on them, about 70% rails, they delamed underfoot and had pieces of the edge rip out from severe edge cracking. Take that for what it is, as I'm not sure what his final thoughts on them were, but he just rode out the season on them.

I disagree with edge issues on the Punx. I have them, and they're extremely durable from the top sheet to edges. They're a fun ski but still able to handle speed and have stability at high speeds. I I definitely recommend them and last years can be found at pretty good prices.

You have no idea how much I hate hearing that. I had my mind completely set until this. Thanks for the info.

I got 4 years out of my punx before they were unusable. Which is insane for a park ski. Most durable and fun skis I've ever ridden. And also it's worth noting they beefed up the edges last year so they are even more durable now

OK, thanks dude. I'm definitely leaning more towards the punx now, but backcountry just raised the price back up :'( they were 300 but now they're 360

I ride volkl ledges and they are the funnest skis to ride on in my opinion, they are pretty durable since i have had them, but then again i have only had them for a season

It took me two seasons of skiing park every day (like 85% rails) and some urban, to completely ruin my ledges, but I would highly recommend them. They were a ton of fun, and other than your basic damage, I really didn't experience anything too detrimental. I did get quite a bit of top sheet damage, but only one edge crack during some really hard skiing.

Yeah, I have made my decision on these (unless another nice pair like the K2 Domains go on sale)

Yeah i don't know what happened with Backcountry's prices. They were $290 and then went up to $360. Sign up for active junky and they'll send you a check for 12% off whatever you buy from Backcountry. It's legit and free too

I'll have to take a look at that!

I've not rode either but i have the Volkl Step which is same construction as the lendge but with extra carbon stringers. I have rode on them for 2 seasons now. In that time i have a fair amount of top sheet chipping; whoch is going to happen anyway with a park ski. In the whole time i havent had to do any major base repair and they run quickly still. I have one or two edge cracks which have only come about in the last half of the second season. I have also recently experienced the delam under foot on both skis. Its nothing a bit of 2 part epoxy, a tool to put it into the gap, and a clamp cant fix. I'm persobally happy with how well they lasted and expected something from this season having rode 75% rails on them all season. Would buy them again. So theyre as durable as most other normal park skis imo.

I've owned both! Völkl Ledge 09, and Atomic Punx 12 or 13.

The Völkls were a lot of fun back then but mine got broken really fast. The Punx are my favorite skis ever, and I've ridden Armadas and ninthwards in addition to the völkls. They're incredibly soft and poppy which makes them a great plaything in the park.

Punx > Ledge

Thanks guys! Anyone have any K2 Domain experience?
