SNOW WILL BEGIN AS EARLY AS FRIDAY MORNING...WITH THE HEAVIESTSNOW EXPECTED FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY NIGHT...ANDAGAIN SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING. HOURLY SNOWFALL RATESMAY EXCEED 2 TO 4 INCHES PER HOUR DURING THE STRONGEST PORTION OFTHE STORM. 3 TO 8 FEET OF SNOW IS LIKELY IN THE SIERRA ABOVE 7000FEET...WHICH WILL SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE AVALANCHE DANGER. THOSELIVING IN REMOTE...HIGHER ELEVATION AREAS IN THE SIERRA COULD BESNOWED IN FOR MULTIPLE DAYS AND SHOULD PREPARE ACCORDINGLY.

wtf you getting your noaa from. I'm doing kirkwood and its saying about noon tomorrow the shits gonna hit the fan. People trying to leave early saturday morning are fucked.

This is true, everyone should stay away from Tahoe for the next few weeks for sure.

There is absolutely no way this report is a fluke or fake, I saw it with my own eyes and was somewhat astonished really... but oh well. Hit up Mammoth if you can, shit's gonna get off the hook there!

This is why I bought a kirkwood pass, because the base elevation is high enough that when alpine or heavenly or a lot of the other resorts get rain, the wood gets snow, booooooom.

This really is nothing out of the ordinary for tahoe. Its kind of a typical storm minus the odd fluctuation in snow levels and the warmer air. This wont be the biggest storm of the season for tahoe and actually already had a bigger storm about a month ago. Ill be driving to tahoe tomorro to get home for christmas. Shouldnt really be bad. 80 east over donner and 88 are usually the only problems. Since i first lived there 6 years ago, Tahoe has had at least one 8-10 foot storm each year. Also has the record for snowfall in 24 hrs (76"). Stoked for the storm though. I read another 4+ feet from monday to wednesday. Read the article about truckee on americas snowiest cities on weather.com. Donner area once had a 783" snowpack. Just a little tahoe weather history for ya guys. STOKED!!!

im on a plane to reno right now, staying at heavenly. anyone down to shred after some of the madness clears up? i just picked up Bibby Pros, so glad santa had a gift in store to go with them.

Damn! Thanks for the lesson in tahoe-shred-weather! I live in CO, so yeah, you get the picture...

awwwwwwww yeah, kwoods been nice the last few days, bailed to down the road because it sucks getting stuck there, no gas, not much food, hot tub wouldnt have worked till tonight, does not make for a fun night

The UK got an inch of snow this week, and a ton of airports have shut down. For the first time in my life, I don't want it to snow here. If I got to the airport on Sunday, to be told that my flight was cancelled, I think I'd probably kill myself, after watching everyone else's early season edits, and getting so stoked to ski
