wondering what you have to say about the fit difference between same size full tilt original and full tilt soul shells. i know i could probably go try them both on for myself but it’s not really the same as having skied both of them. mainly interested in how the toe box feels, as that’s really the only difference on paper. fto is dropkicks/ original, FTS is first chair and tw pro

FTS has a bigger toebox and feels roomier overall. FTO crushed my toes, FTS didn't.

is it wideness or height or both? i guess i’m confused as to how the last is the same but it’s said the toe box is wider?

Not sure, but I think last is the width at the forefoot so a bigger toe box wouldn’t change the last measurement.

ya ok makes sense ty for input

Toe Box is very very similar. The last width is the same it comes down to a slight depth difference due to adding the replaceable soles rather than the solid sole. But they are very similar. Honestly the CAD laid on top of one another is basically the same. The bigger difference really is the stand height and it's that which most of our athletes use to decide if they want to go FTS or FTO.

are you referencing how FTS has replaceable toe and heel whereas FTO only has replaceable heel piece?

edit: or sole as in the like removable boot board underneath liner in FTS? i’ve only ever owned first chairs never FTO

Yes the bottom of the shell. Obviously to add the space for the screws and the change in the lower shell to add the replicable soles we had to change a few things when it came to the overall mold.

If you have been skiing the First chair I would stick with the FTS. The new Wallisch and Revolver Team look so good next season.

thanks for the input appreciate ya!

As mentioned, FTS and FTO have the same last width, as in the widest point across the forefoot. From there, the FTO tapers are little more aggressively towards the toes, whereas the FTS is more squared off. This is where people seem to have perception about the last feeling wider and longer on the FTS vs FTO. I tried on both shells this season and took a look at both bootboards to confirm my above description of the two lasts.

One interesting thing I did notice, was the Drop Kick Pro which uses the FTO shell, seemed to have a thicker and stiffer plastic in the lower clog than the the First Chair 120s. Interesting, given the FC120 has the stiffer tongue and advertised as more of an all mountain boot vs the Drop Kick Pro.
