Anyone near BEND wanna be a huge homie?

We’re sending it up South Sister tomorrow. A friend decided last minute that he could come. We have skis for him but no ski boots. Does anyone have a 26.5-28.5 we could borrow for the day?

Please help. It’d be way cooler to ski down South Sister than hike/glissade. Plus you’ll get some fat good karma.

No. About an inch of snow at the trailhead and 6 inches of snow at the summit came in the night before we were going to go. Snow stopped for our climb, but it was super socked in. We got about 2 miles in before we lost trail and decided it'd be way more enjoyable (as well as safer) that we come back a different day. We ended up skiing down nearly to the trailhead, which was basically a dusting on rocks. It was a blast, and we filmed a bit of it. Think we're going to throw together a little edit of our summit-attempt turned rock skiing adventure. I'll send you the link whenever it's done.

Hoping to go try again soon!

^Cool. Never know until you go. My friend posted a picture from the top terminal of the Bachelor Summit chair and it looked pretty socked in. Said he could basically see one tower ahead as he skinned up.

I want to get out there and do a little patch skiing while there are still some patches.

Yeah the snow above the treeline is pretty nice right now (at least my impression of it).
