Anyone know if you can throw lighter springs in px18's?I know... I'm a pussy ( :

Extenuating circumstances (injury recovery)

I heard the px14 is the same binding as the 18... If I dial the 18's down past about 12.5 they don't feel right and I want to run them around 10 for a while.

so has anyone swapped the springs in either direction?

thanks

I'd assume you could do it. I wouldnt trust the indicators at all and definitely take it in to get tested at a shop before riding it.

the toe piece on the 14 is plastic and the 18 is metal, might cause a couple problems

yeah, you can do it. just unscrew the DIN adjustment all the way till the spring comes out, then put one from an fks 155 or px 15 in. also take the DIN indicator from the lesser DIN binding. I don't know why you wouldnt just put the other bindings on if you have them or are getting them for springs...

Thanks for all the responses. I was hoping more for "Ya, they are $40 and it takes a half hour" ( :
Even at 11.5 my boot barely returns to center just after 12 the springs come on strong.
It makes sense, I would never normally ask a din 18 to run at 10.5....
I'm almost walking straight again, just thought it would be nice to have skis that actually come off for a couple weeks. Not worth buying a set of bindings though.
