Anyone know anything about x box 360s?

So my X Box just shat the bed, if I get another one does that mean I'll lose all my progress in Skate and Madden? And the rest, I dont have an external merory card like in an old PS2.
 
Yeah, I think stuff's stored on the hard drive on Xbox, so you will probably have to start over.

At least I think so - someone correct me if there's a way to keep it.

Most errors occur in the xbox itself, and the harddrive is detachable so you should be ok unless it's a hardrive error. At which point...yea, everything is fucked
 
3 lights just means fatal error..... do u know the error code when u turn on your xbox cause that will tell u whats wrong...... but an easy way to check if its the harddrive remove the hardrive and try to turn it on. if that works then u dont need to buy a new xbox only a new hardrive.
 
ok dude. ur gonna have to call xbox. they will ship you a box. put your xbox in there BUT KEEP YOUR HARDDRIVE. that means you wont lose your data. you then ship it back to them and they check out the problem and then they send u a new one. Now xbox found out why people have the 3 red rings. now they fixed it and you will get a new one and will never have that problem. the downside is your gonna have to wait a long time to get it. like a month or so
 
yup. i just got a new one back from microsoft about a week and half ago. i think total time took 3 weeks about
 
Go with this if the red ring's the problem. Your data should be fine if this is the issue.

This happened to mine a while ago, now that I think of it. Like he said, it will take a while, but you can probably get it fixed.

do you know how much they will charge? cause i dont think it has any warranty, i bought it off my girlfriends brother who had it for a while
 
I had mine for a year, crashed, cost $130, got it back 2 weeks later, 3 months after that got a letter in the mail saying it was a faulty system and had a check for $130 in the envelope
 
call them and tell them that you personally bought it. and when they ask you when you bought it, tell them i dont remember. and it should be for free since its a manufacturer defect. i didnt pay anything nor did any of my friends when this happened to them and me. but never tell them you bought it from someone or else they wont refund you. just say you bought it and your all set.
