i dont actually live in vermont but i have a cottage at smuggs. its such a sweet place everyone ive met so far is super friendly

sooo i dont live in VT or whatever but...im from CT and skied in VT my whole life, and now I reside in vermonts beautiful sister NH. Pretty easy going lifestyle, up in this region people are super nice...everyone always notes how people let you cross the street and wave and say hello all the time. skiing is awesome, when you can drive 2 hours to 15 different resorts its nothing to complain about. There is more going on towards Burlington (real north VT) and more going on in Southern VT, near the Mt. Snow area. but you have to remember, not many people live in VT and NH so the night life is selective...yes weekends during ski season near a resort you can always find something going on but other times it gets quiet and slow so be prepared...but we got good trees up here...both to look at and smoke wooorrddddd. hope thjis helped.

MOVE TO VT! (ESPECIALLY BURLINGTON)
Dude if you're gonna shred VT make sure you go to Northern VT
Burlington in particular... It's such a sick scene close to canada not at all what you'd expect from VT...
plus there's tons of stuff to do when you're not skiing/ there isn't snow.
Oh and the Riding is sick too!
Boltons 20 mins from Burlington and has a sick park lots of sun and awesome snow.
Stowe is cool if thats you're scene and JAY PEAK is unreal and only like an hour away and a super easy
drive!
Yeah there's no huge backcountry cliffs or 3 foot pow days but Northern VT gets way more snow than
NY and there's always good times to be had in the woods!
TONS of urban in town on UVM's campus and in Montreal which is super close!

vermont is pretty cool. theres tons of kids who live in burlington for 4 years and never experience the rest of the state (aside from the surrounding ski areas) and that is really sad. burlington has some pretty good shopping and nightlife, and lake champlain has some good beaches.

if youre gonna move to vermont, you should really take some time to get to know the state. there are some real nice towns like woodstock, vergennes, brattleboro, manchester, marlboro, and the hero islands.

vermonts economy is heavily based on tourism, so expect an ebb and flow of douche bags from mass., quebec, ct., ny., and points south.

there is more action in the new england forum, but yes there are tons of kids on ns from vermont, especially in the burlington area, myself included. come, its fun.

went to college there, just moved 2 months ago skied 75+ days every year. some good years for snow, some not so good better than CT for sure though.

im headed to northfield for college. i love the state, its definitely a good place to live. and lots of places to ski.

If you can find a sustainable job, it's a great place to live.

Tourism is the biggest industry though and it's what VT's economy is based on. Lots of service based options, but it's highly seasonal and subject to high variability in business levels.

If you want a laid-back place with great outdoor recreation, it's a great state, and you're plenty close enough to Boston, NYC or Montreal if you want a weekend in the big city.

Vermont is such a great place to live. Especially in Burlington. Theres so much to do! You can go cliff jumping at redrocks, boating, longboarding, etc...in the summer and in the winter there is sooo much stuff to do. Seshing burton is really fun bc i live 5 minutes away from it, so I just dial my tricks there. Also theres Bolton Valley which has a sick park and has night skiing, so its really fun after school or work etc...Theres also tons of urban around town too. To sum it up. Burlington is AWESOME.

vt is straight, ive lived here the last 12 years or so. dont listen to all these toursists that come up on the weekends, they dont know what vt is like they only see the mountain. but yes.. vermont is chill as hell and you better like to shred
