errr it's only debatable when you start to bend the truth and all the (real) overwhelming scientific facts come from one side of the argument.
Also by the way: that study that says 97% of scientists say climate change is accelerated by humans, let me explain that quickly.
Many similar studies have been done, only the recent 97% study has gained the most traction with the media.
Firstly let me explain how this study was carried out. A lot of people seem to think that someone sent a questionnaire to scientist with yes/no tick boxes and a question on the top. This couldn't be further from the truth. The author of the study gathered every research paper which flagged on searches for keywords such as 'climate change' and 'global warming' (etc) since 2001. He then read through the abstract for each of these papers, and counted how many supported the hypothesis that global warming is accelerated by human activity and how many rejected it. About two thirds gave no relevant consensus, but 97% of the papers that did supported the accelerated warming of the earth.
Secondly among similar studies (many have been conducted) the recent 97% study is an outlier. Most similar studies return much higher percentages, the average being over 99.5%.
