anyone have 180 4frnt msp

I just bought a pair of 4frnt msp 180cm and i was wondering if anyone knows how good of all around skis these are? I am waiting for them to get mounted, waiting sucks...

 
solid for big landings but way too big for me

umm, chalet sports, just a local sports shop, but i bought them off a web site, for 375, not bad, i mean i could have got a better deal... but at least i got them

 
i believe what he meant by 'where did you mount them?' was where along the ski. i think 4frnt has a freeride mark, a freestyle mark, and something else..

 
^that was precisely my quesiton

i have skied on msps mounted at the freeride point and the center point and in my opinion, if you plan on doing anything outside the park (which i hope you would with msps) don't mount at the forward line! the tails feel waaaay to long and they suck in pow, steeps, etc.

Yes they have a "center" line and a "freeride" line. If I were to remount my skis I would mount them an inch back from freeride, I mounted them freeride and its like an inch back from center, way too far forward for big mountain riding. The huge tails are great for stomping cliffs though

i ride them for park, but i have it on the freeride line, i dont like centermounts... its alot of tail on the freeride though... huge base = easy to land... if you're big or strong enough to be able to turn them easily they're really good, but i know alot of ppl that have tried mine and can't turn them for shit, it just takes some getting used to, i went from old 1080s to the MSPs, and let me say "Once you go fat(er) you'll never go back"

 
mine are mounted +1cm from freeride. they are rockstars in the park, but in really deep snow at high speed i have to watch it or my tips tend to sink. that's only in like well over a foot of fresh though. i'd really dig a pair of 187's as my non-park skis

i had a pair of 187s mounted about mid-way between freeride and center and they sucked outside the park. the long tails made turning a paind in the ass and on steeps the extra tail kept throwing me forward.

they are sick skis, but if you want them to handle well outside the park, i'd advise mounting at or behind the freeride line...especially with the 187s

 
4frnt came to my mountain to demo and my friend tried them. theyre pretty damn fat, at least for an east coast ski but if you like fat skis theyre dope. they have a sturdy ass sidewall which is chill. id go with the stl's but thats jsut cause im east coast and ride more park then anything. but dope

Yeah I got 187's and I really wish I mounted them back, they are fun in the park, but when your in steep tight terrain at speed it gets pretty sketchy trying to turn them. They are very "hooky". I'll prolly get the b4 squads next year and just use these for park

i have the msp 180s, pefectly centermounted, and they still rip powder, i have them in some waist deep pow this year and centermount was still amazing, for jumps they are sick cause they are so solid, really easy to spin too, and switch is amazing

^dude, you must be nuts...they ride like shit centermounted. i guess if you take the time to get used to them that way they feel normal, but i can't imagine that.

 
my 180's are mounted +1cm above the freeride point, and they ride just fine. havent been in deep powder yet, but i think they will do just fine. The skis spin great and switch is effortless.

 
Yeah Mans, I have 170 though, does that mean Im not alowed to post in this thread? But I mounted mine on the Freeride, which is pretty much obsolete. The freeride mount is probably about 1 cm back from the centre mount. Its still good everywhere, it took about 3 and a half minutes of riding before I got used to them.
