be careful because there is next to no money in skiing websites and I feel it would be much teh same with inline. Be very careful and make sure you get some money up front before you spend upwards of a hundred hours coding to get the finger and have this guy run. Not saying you will cause it sounds half way legit, but just be careful.

whoever posted that there's no money in ski sites is pretty much right. site maintenance over months and years to corporations is where the money is.

i run a site called midwestskier.com and all the money we make isn't online or through hoodie/video sales, there is next to no money online. if there was why would harvey even have the donate option there for you? it's just common sense for me. I don't wana rain on anyone's parade, it could be really good portfolio work which is invaluable when applying for internships/jobs and some colleges.

I just ahd a quick looka round midwestskier! Its a smart desing, good lookinmg and easy to browse! I'm impressed!! but yeah I agree with Prins, even if a site doesnt make much money it is good as folio pieces. If you have a lot of good work to show any company is going to favour yu over someone who hasnt got anything. Thats what I'm working on just now, building ym folio, which currently is really quite small!! Oh well, I'm only young!!

Yeah, the folio thing is deefinitly correct. THe site is nice but the colors are kindof plain and limp. Its very nice though and I will check it out in more detail soon.

Why can't you do your own work. You're just like every other kid that's like 'Yeah, lets start a web based company' and you don't know jack shit about the internet, or what holds it together, or web pages or graphical design so you try to recruit the people to do the work for you. Learn shit yourself, it will be more rewarding and you'll be more likely to succeed.

Although you make a good point, i have to disagree with most of that. Have you ever tried managing a web site on your own? If you have, im sure it wasn't easy. Recruiting people to help is a simple way making things easier and increasing your chance of success.

Also, What woiuld be wrong if he didn't know anything about what he is doing? Thats what other people are for. There are huge numbers of individuals and companies out there that pay other people to disign things for them. Why? Because they don't have the skill, resources, time or knowledge to do it themselves. Graphics and web design are just a few of the fields where this happens.

I think you need to get off of your know all high horse and accept the fact that not everyone thinks they know as much as you think you do.

way to be mike, you just said that he might not know what he's doing yet he's promising 100-1000 usd per job. That sounds insainly fishsy to me, and does to andy too.

BTW I do/have run my own web based company, and my friend works downtown at a design firm. You need to have a knowlege of how the whole thing works otherwise what you're doing won't work out. How is he suposto communicate with the clients and staff if he doesn't understand it... Thats all I got.

actually andy if you're a legit design company you can make around 10-80 grand per job. but then again this is some kid out of his basement. No respectable corporation is going to pay out to him. he didnt even offer a porfolio or website for us to check out.

Yeah, I know it sounds fishy, but if your willing to risk only a little bit of time, we could make something huge, something that would blow the sports scene away. It is a concept site that know one else has ever come close to being like, I'm not even sure if anyone has thought of it. This site will change the way people watch, listen to and get information about sports. And 100-1000 usd isn't that much, that was just the starting price.
