I just got accepted there and i'm thinking about going. Does anyone have any information about the school specific to skiing.

its pretty close to blue and MSLM if that's what you're wondering. There are a lot of Asians so I doubt there is a ski/snowboard club.

youve got about an hour/hour and a half to one of the dopest parks in ontario, mount st louis. you can probably find a ride i know a few people commute from toronto.

What program did you get into? UofT is a strange school like i personally don't go there, go to ryerson which is like a couple blocks away but I live like right downtown and know a shitload of people that go to UofT and are from toronto . Anyways it's hard to say cuz it all depends on the program. If you have any specific questions pm me, i'd be glad to help.

i got into the humanities program. i plan on studying english lit and french translation. how do you like toronto in general? i have only visited the city once and it seemed cool, but what's your opinion?

i went there for three years.
of course they have a ski club, asians love skiing.only problem is both blue and moonstone are a hour and a half away, assuming your on the downtown campus.and im not gonna lie, academically the school is amazing, socially its terrible.
but toronto is a amazing city, if you get bored of campus, travel off.
which college and rez are you in?if possible apply for vic college and chestnut rez.

i am in woodsworth college and not sure if i will live on campus since i am a transfer student and going to be a sophomore with my first semester already finished. do you think i should stay in rez? woodsworth does look nice and new, but i did the dorm thing freshman year and hated it. whereas this year i lived off campus and could not have been happier.

they have a ski club with shuttles up to blue and st. louis, but theres probably hardly any freeskiers there. most likely all asians :P

Yeah, skiing at UofT is limited to hills in ontario ... there IS earl bales in toronto, and centennial in etobicoke - but those are kind of shit.

I got into UofT too as a transfer student next year but I have not decided yet whether I'll be going 'cause I'm still waiting for Ryerson either way, I will most definitely be living off campus I hated rez the first time around

there are some of us who go on the ski club trips. I go to the Ontario College of Art and Design, but I go on them. It's not too bad, but its definitely better to get a car if you can, then you can ride whenever you want.

But if you really care about your skiing, leave this side of the country, its what I'll probably be doing soon.

louis is about 1.5 hours, blue is a little over 2 hours. I've lived there since gr. 6 (not now cause i'm at mcmaster) and its a really really good city.

Your obviously gonna be closer to way better hills in quebec though.

Nice i thought i was the only ryehigh individual here lol. I'm taking chemical engineering .... yeah i know ... i fucking hate it but i guess it's worth it in the end, we'll see ... worst thing about it is a lot less time for skiing in the winter then i would like.

Now about toronto, it's a great city i love it. Has a really good underground music scene from hiphop to elecctronica, lots of real good underground clubs and bars. Has a mainstream side too if you are into that. Lots of great people to meet all around and it's pretty easy to find a good group to hang out with that share your interests etc. Also there is tons of smoking chicks... for real when it comes to the females you can't go wrong there.

UofT is a really good school academically but socially it's not the best. Like it has a really good reputation so it attracts a lot of people which are intellecutally inclined but in many cases they seriously lack social skills. I'm not saying it's filled with douchebags but i had many friends that switched school cuz they jsut couldn't take it. There is also a very big group of preppy/filthy rich individuals there that i'm not too fond of.

But like i said the city is great and if you find a place off campus somewhere i'm sure you'll enjoy it, res isn't bad either but there is a bigger chance that you and up in some room with some fobs that can barely speak english.

When it comes to skiing i think toronto is bad in a case that everyone i know fuckign snowboards. Like it's still a cool factor and i know a lot of loosers that have 1k worth of gear and can barely go down the mountain. But if you get a good group of pees and one of you has some form of car then blue mountain or other mountains are like 1-2h away. They are not the rockies but not too bad for east coast. Also quebec isn't that far and a weekend trip there is always tons of fun and not that hard on the wallet. Best way to blow the student loans lol.

Anyways if you do end up going there or have any questions or need tips give me a shout and i'll help a brother out.

right on man, woodsworths nice, they recently did a reno there and cleaned it all up, but nothing their is new, except pharmaceutical building and that new student rez.
i would stay in rez if you dont have to. there is plenty of places just of campus to rent. plus like you said you live off campus and loved it.
but ya man, if you want info on the ski club either go to hart house and ask, or check out sid smith student services.
and yes there will be freeskiers, the school is pushing 90,000 students. im sure you wont be the only one with twintips.
seems like three people in this thread have been enrolled at the school, and everyone else has no clue what the fahk their talking about.

thanks for the info. I'm in the social science program on the mississauga campus. Does anyone know anything about the rez on that campus? I will most likely have a car so if anyone wants to start a crew let me know.

if i do in fact go to toronto in the fall, i will probably have a car too, so j-weis id be down for a crew to head over to quebec and up to blue.

ah another ryehigh kid that is my destination next here for graphics communcation management nice to kno there is a few of us on here
