I just visited it last week. I liked it alot seems like a great school. I was wondering for anyone attending NAU or anyone living in flagstaff.

How do you like it?

How are the parties/nightlife?

How is the Snowbowl there?

I'm debating between NAU or San Diego State University, which has a team that goes to Mammoth and Big Bear is two hours away.

Thanks!

My mom went there to get her masters and she loved the school itself. Pretty close to Phoenix so you can head in during the winter to get some sun but far enough away to avoid the heat. I've skied Snowbowl once and it wasn't bad. From what I remember they have a little park thats not too bad. Snow wise its off and on. I have had kids say some years they get shat on and others they get noting. Not really sure about the party life there though. Hope I helped some.

I lived up there for 4 years and i shish i could move back. Flagstaff is such a chill place, weather is always nice, its not far from anything. The night life is fun, I would suggest living there. Really.

I like Flagstaff. It's a pretty chill town. Not as much going on as say San Diego, but really it's pretty sweet. The school's about the right size and theres a lot of really cool people that go there. Some of my good friends went there, and I even applied there - only to really not like the program for what I wanted to do.

Snowbowl relies on natural snowfall, so if the season sucks, it REALLY sucks, and there's not another place within about a 10 hour drive, so you're kinda screwed otherwise. they only average about 260 inches, and the base is at 9200 feet - so that gives you an idea of what Arizona skiing is kinda like. East coast places get more snow in some years... It's still pretty much the desert.

Having a national park like Grand Canyon that close is really awesome though... Never can get bored with that.
