Anyone go to college at Colorado Boulder?

Im interested in all the shit on collegeboard and sites. But I'd love to hear from a real stuent how the campus is, party life, and of course the skiing. anythings helpful and +K for sure.

Thanks

i go to boulder high, right next to cu

boulder is a sweet place and there are for sure some buffs on ns

Campus is beautiful, school is great. Boulder is nuts, like hard to handle nuts...

I'm moving out as soon as I am done with school

Denver is a tight city. The school's nothing special like they say they are though. All I've heard of boulder is a huge huge party school, like too much partying. I've never been so don't take my word for it, just what i've heard. Check out CU fort collins as well as DU, i know some people in foco who like it a lot.

Def. too much partying. It goes mad deep and good people turn into sketchy fucks. Check out CSU. It's not as close to the mountains, but its waaayyyyy chill, thats where I grew up, and it attracts really good people.

wrong state bud. Denver is about from 1 & 1/2 from keystone, brecks a little further, and vail is a couple more hours ish. there's also ruby hill which is 15 min from du campus, really cool feature. and also also, echo is about an hour (maybe more) from denver as well.

both of my brothers went to CU. Yes, its a great school but like many posts above me, the town is nuts. My brothers both moved out and went to CSU, because they said it was full of rich people from california whos daddys buy them everything.

CU is pretty cool. You just gotta find the right group of friends. It's pretty easy to get caught up in it all. Parts of it are fucking awesome, and other parts suck. Too many frat douches also.

CSU is a lot chiller and the people are just generally nicer and a little more "normal"

not to mention boulder is the most overpriced school period. ~$41,000 for a mid grade public school? fuck that. the people that go there reflect the tuition price. a large portion of the kids there are like "i'm a hippie and i'm green conscious, but im fucking loaded and only care about myself and getting trashed".

but the campus is absolutely beautiful, and there's a million things to do outdoors there. but then again so is fort collins. downside to fort collins is that its about 2.5 hrs away from summit county. my brother goes there and still skis every weekend. theres a lot of kids whos parents or friends have condos they never use, so they just crash there.

I'm a junior now but im looking out in the colorado area. Colorado State University is looking to be my #1. Good choice? I'm going to ski, get a criminal justice degree, and party really god damn hard

if the party hard part is serious cu would be better

i like boulder better than fort collins myself, i haven't spend a ton of time there but it seemed too small/ruralish

Wow lot of Boulder hate. It's really easy to avoid the assholes in town. I would say there are way more cool people than not in town. Just avoid the hill, easy as that.

my older brother goes to boulder. if you like drugs and partying, then boulder is the place to go. as far as skiing goes, summit co. mountains like breck, keystone, copper are around 2 hrs. away.

your stupid, colleges like boulder can be amazing depending on the program, and what you make of it. If your a lazy fuck then spending 160k on college is stupid, if you are not then going to boulder or csu gives you the chance to get a great education and ski a whole fucking lot.

It's a fucking stupid argument, CU is a good school, but there are plenty of just as good public schools in state where you live. There fucking public schools, they are all the same, same shit, same shitty profs, and way over priced, cept if you go out of state ur paying 2x more for no reason. Pretty much if you live out of state, and you go to CU your just going to ski. That being said, having visited the college its's pretty fucking dope, if your parents can afford are willing to spend the money, fuck id go there if i had the chance. But no way would I be willing to take out a loan, and be in debt 60k+ just to ski breck.
Also, there frat dbags at every school, why would boulder be the exception? Just don't associate yourself with them, problem solved.

Senior at CU boulder now. Boulder has its perks and its definitely a fun place but I prefer Denver... more going on

I just got to boulder this past fall. I like the place a lot. There are "those kids" but every college worth going to has them too. I will say one thing though, the campus has a lot of good looking chicks, awesome shit to do (cliff jumping 10 minute drive, flatirons and flagstaff climbing, etc.), and its right outside of a pretty major city. The skiing is stupidly fun with little less than 2 hours to get to keystone, or a 35 minute bus ride to el dora, but its easier to know someone with a car (and a place to stay at breck). You can get on some of the best mountains in the U.S. 60+ days a year. I guess everyone has their opinions though, and I'm bummed people don't like this place because its pretty awesome.

thanks everyone i would also love to hear about other schools than boulder if anyone goes to coloroda state, montana state, university of vermont

Wow a lot of boulder hate in here! Well first off It's a great place, you probably know the area it self has a ton to offer, its got skiing, biking, climbing, hiking basically anything you want to do outside boulder offers it. Then there are the people, the diversity in types of people (not race) is amazing, you have the cali bro's, the rich preps, the east coast Deutsche bags, the stoners, the meat heads, the skiiers, and the hippies, etc. Its amazing how so many different types of people all go to the same school. I believe a lot of who you run into on campus deals with what major you are. I'm a business major so I rarely see the hippies/stoners/meat heads. But if your another major like communications your ganna run into a different type of person. Overall I really like the school, the first year I went I didnt so much, but as I started to develop a group of friends with similar interest and found my niche the school is a lot of fun, yes its hard, but college isn't supposed to be easy.
what will your major be?

my older bro goes to boulder and he loves it. hot girls EVERYWHERE, tons of partying, and you can get a really good degree depending on what you go for, contrary to what the haters say. tuition is like 26 out of state though...kinda pricey if money is an issue but you could always take a year off for the in state tuition.

i'm also looking at UVM and i've visited the campus. its nice, not as nice at boulder. the towns are sort of similar as well but Burlington doesn't have nearly as much going on, but it's a very good public school. i've been accepted to UVM, still waiting to hear back from boulder. expensive though, tutition's 30k out of state

after visiting both campuses i'd say boulder is nicer for the area, campus, partying, etc. but vermont has nicer academics, and burlington is a chill place.
