How's the weather and what's it like there? I'm going to be living there in 4 months and I've never been there...

cold, rainy, windy, sometimes sun, but overall worst time to go there and the mountains are far away

Is it real ghetto because it's east germany or is it pretty much the same as the west?

Pretty much the same.

In Berlin center you will probably not recognize the "border"
