Anyone from/been/living in Hilton Head SC?

I'm headed to hh tomorrow, never been. Do I have any 21+ nsers that can point me in the right direction? Southern regional thread is dead.
 
went there at the beginning of summer. I'm only 17 but from what I could see there isn't much to do. It seems to be more of a family beach/retirement beach. to be honest I hated it...thank god I'm going to myrtle beach tomorrow, little trashy but a lot better than hilton head.
 
I've been to Charleston and I fucking loved it. Such a cool city. Don't know much about Hilton Head though..
 
I've been going to Hilton Head for years. I spent 6 weeks there for a summer once. I only go because my grandparents live there. Like someone said, it's a whole lot of retired people, every other guest is from Ohio, and it's pretty family oriented. Plantation is key. If you're in the right plantation, you'll have fun, if you're not, it's gonna fucking suck. I only really know Sea Pines well, but it's definitely one of the best plantations and probably your best bet for young people and some nightlife. Enjoy it though man!
 
Not quite sure where I'm staying, meeting parents who are already there. Thanks for the answers, guess I'll just have to figure it out when I get there
 
This is a lie. I spent every summer in Hilton Head for maybe 10 years and only had a house in Sea Pines for a few of those years. We had just as much fun if not more some years in our new location.
 
I haven't been there in several years, but I know a decently good hang out spot was the Marriott Grand Ocean.... lots of other kids with families looking to meet people and party there. Pool Bar Jim is there and he is awesome.... been working there since before I could walk. If you head off the boardwalk at night there are always (or at least used to be) groups of people drinking/partying on the beach.
 
ive been in sea pines a couple of times with my family, and it was okay. were dont have the money to play the golf course, so my parents spent most of every day playing tennis, which i dont really enjoy very much. theres a couple of good restaurants but nothing too spectacular. the salty dog is pretty famous but its really only decent food. there isnt much cool shopping or anything (at least in sea pines), mostly just tourist shops with the same stupid nick-nacks. i was there in march so the beaches were too cold to swim, but we rented bikes and riding down the beach was nice so id definitely recommend renting or bringing a bike. there are bike paths everywhere and i think its a more relaxing and fun way to get around.
