Anyone else find it annoying Noah Albaladejo keeps winning bye doing the same trick every game? I mean he’s a dope skier but Slvsh is supposed to be trying new lines with creative tricks not just a repetitive trick giving letters to super dope skiers idk maybe it’s just me

I cant remember the last time something in freestyle skiing caused this much controversy lol. people overdoing the hate
 
Lol, I posted this same thing in the slvsh thread. The point of slvsh is the most versatile skier wins. Safety slide is kind of an esoteric trick, goofy and not many people have it on lock. He needs to set other tricks, I have never seen anyone get so smoked in such a short amount of time.
 
Bruh remind me to not open ns before watching slvsh games... Kinda a dead horse, too bad it's all the talk from one of the best ski events of the year. Not the most respectful style of playing but completely within the rules. Part of what makes slvsh great is making ridiculously good skiers try different tricks. Kinda cool to have some unique games like this every now and then. Game was winnable for chris.

He's done a bunch of different variations and it looks dope every time. If you have a unique trick not many people practice, why wouldn't you use it against skiers who have a huge bag of big spins on to rails? Would you rather Noah politely concede by handicapping himself? That would make the game worse.

To be fair, the park they're using does cater to Noah's style.

Definitely agree with this, slvsh is about pushing your own limits and trying new shit, not spamming the same move to win, imo the focus shouldn’t be winning but expanding your bag and having fun

New SLVSH rule: A skier cannot get more than 2 letters per game using the same trick or grab.

If there’s not a change, next SLVSH cup will just be dudes spamming insanely niche tricks they’ve added to their bag just to get letters.

Maybe a hot take but there’s always been an ‘air’ of sportsmanship in SLVSH. There’s been tons of games between super techy skiers and prototypical ‘stylish’ skiers. If the secret sauce to winning SLVSH is to consistently fall tricks you know your opponent can’t do, it becomes spin to win and FIS should start judging.

There was one game In RUKA where one skier knew the goalkeeper slide and second knew a other crazy trick and the rule Judge gave was that you can do this trick once or twice (im not sure) BTW great game. But on the other side giving rules to SLVSH is not the move in my opinion

the ironic part is Noah is taking it EASY on his sets. Letting them slide whatever foot forward/grab however they want.

what’s the difference between Noah skiing to his strengths and another rider busting out crazy ass grabs and rotations that another person can’t do? There is none.

sry someone is showing that skiing uniquely is significantly more difficult than future spinning and being a switch up king. it’s hilarious how we used to make fun of the latter.

wow, if youre hating on noah youre hella wrong. slvsh is about winning why shouldnt you do everything you can to win. May the best skier win. Thats what trivia crack rule is for. If you dont like noah getting a letter on you with a safety slide then youll get your chance to throw a trick he doesnt have. And if you cant throw a trick that he doesnt have then youre not the better skier and you deserve to lose.

I also want everyone to know I am not hating on Noah! He’s actually one of the dopes OG skiers out there full respect! Just was sad to see safety slides instead of all the banger tricks he has on lock!
 
He didn’t take any risks either he just did the easiest safety slides he could so he doesn’t fail them. He knew he was just gonna get easy letters what a greedy lil bastard. All it shows is his low intelligence or the inability to feel shame. NOT COOL ‼️

Or anyone of that caliber for that matter? there’s reasons they don’t go set a dub 19 both ways, then add a grab, then tweak it a little until they win. It’s called sportsmanship and it’s probably the very reason joss said they’re having trouble getting top pros out. Who wants to waste time and energy flying to slvsh cup to get smoked by a safety slide when you’re an x games/olympic medal skier
