Anyone ever skied at whitefish?

Never skied there but it was good enough for Tanner Hall. The trail map looks pretty legit.

Skied there once its fun but pretty small. Ended up skiing the same chair most of the time and if there's not a ton of coverage I bet there's even less options

Never been, heard it’s aight.

Red lodge is pretty fun though casually, I pulled up there once with a homie who was visiting the state and it was a sunny Saturday with fresh snow and idk if we waited in a lift line for longer than 5 minutes the whole day. Would def recommend- nice lil town too.

My parents are moving there I’ve never been but they heard from the locals that it was sick

Tell your California parents to stay the fuck home!!!

JK I’m from MN and I live in MT now like all the other posers.

Side note to OP whitefish is super rad. It’s 3000 acre resort.

People really got salty bc you made them scroll more?

They just don’t like me now on here cause I actually speak what’s on my mind instead of hiding it like everyone else does because “they’re afraid people won’t like them” if they say it aloud.

Whitefish is dope but I've never been out there this early. There's definitely gnarly stuff and also a lot of just fun terrain. There are a few chairs that are positioned weirdly and can lead to long run-outs and weird spots on the mountain though. Idk if hellroaring opens that early but it's fairly steep, ungroomed, and less skiied. Never been in the parks but they have a couple and I think they run during night skiing too.

Looking to book a Christmas ski trip that’s affordable and stumbled upon whitefish. How is it?

Never skied there, but Whitefish as a town definitely isn't very affordable. Similar prices for restaurants and bars as Big Sky and Jackson have. Don't know what an AirBnb runs for around there, but I can't imagine it'd be cheap

Whitefish is the dream.. one of the deepest days of my life was at whitefish in December. We usually stay in Kalispbell which is more affordable. Chair 5**, Hellroaring and Haskill Slide all have dope cliffs with good landings. And the night skiing park laps are sweet too

Skied it a few winters ago for about a week. One of the days we got a good amount of snow and it was a damn great time. I highly recommend.

Whitefish is rad, Christmas is a coin toss when it comes to conditions, but that will be true pretty much anywhere in the US.

Plus good chances skiboss might be home for the holiday, I say go for it

I'm also looking at doing a trip to Whitefish the week after Christmas. I typically do Utah (Alta, Snowbird, Solitude), but thinking about changing it up this year. My biggest concern is early season conditions. Does anybody have any more insight on what is typically open/closed that time of year? Looking to ski some of the areas mentioned previously in the thread (hellroaring, chair 5, north side).

Also open to bar/restaurant recommendations.

Awesome resort. Cool town. Kalispell is cheaper and not too much farther away. Glacier National is like a 20 minute drive. Okay park. Chair 4 is super sick

Stopped for an afternoon on my way up to BC. It was really sick, awesome terrrain especially off the backside. No park, definitely more of a “big mountain” feel w bowls and glades and pillow poppers everywhere. Main runs are groomed otherwise it’s pretty much off-piste bumps and steeps. I loved it. Amazing views of glacier National park from the top. A few od the sledneck-style pros like PWhite, Duncan Adam’s etc. ski lifts there when not in the Montana backcountry. Worth the trip, especially how affordable it is.

There's nothing really special about big mountain. It's kinda flat and the sun never shines. Still a good time though if you can do it on the cheap
