Anyone ever ride the armada syndicate?

Ive been clearing out old gear this summer and I found a few stacks of old promotional info-flyers from armada. I remember seeing these (the syndicate) online back in the day, they weren’t a ski that they manufactured a lot of- I think they were a slightly retooled ANT, did anyone ever pick up a pair and take some laps on them? They had the graphic from the ARV that year.

I keep wishing that armada would do some limited runs on the old Jp v Julien or ANT shape, I have a pair of 06 or 07 JP v Juliens that were bomb proof but are finally getting relegated to full time rock ski. Such an awesome lineup of skis back then, not that they’ve fallen off or anything.

I guess people prefer rockered skis nowadays as they are easier to ski.

Both syndicate and ANT were pretty traditional with their camber profile.

Also the ANT was shape-wise pretty close to what ARV 106 is today, it just lacked the rocker.

That combined with being heavy ski due to the materials back then made it a bit hard to ski.

I liked the ANT shape because it was one of the first wide park skis, but having used the light and rockered skis of nowadays, like ARV 106, I wouldn't go back

i almost bought some a few years ago. yeah, iirc they were similar to or the same as ANTs. big stiff heavy skis with no rocker that liked to go fast. i never got to ski them myself but i think i would've liked them since i like cruise missile skis

however i can't tell you if compared to most skis nowadays they're heavy cause that's what type of ski they are, or also because of material/construction advances since then
