Anyone ever hack thier cell phone?

im gettin a moto E815 on tuesday and i was reading up on "seem edits" for the phone. thru the edit and can enable sending pix and ringtones thru bluetooth, from your comp to your phone, which verizon wont let you do. the shit is complex as hell and way over my head. anyone ever do this though?
 
i changed my WAP gateway address to a free WAP server on my samsung so i get free interweb
 
the only good thing about moto's is the ability to mod the hell out of htem. Seem editing isnt too hard, but there is always the possibility of bricking your phone.

some genious kid im my school made his cell phone work off a satellite for free and it always was changing its phone number so it couldnt be track or some shit like that.... fucking smart at 15 years old

yeti - what else can you do thru this hacking...ik you can turn off the evdo seaching network function so it saves mad battery life but what else?
 
you can flash it to different firmware, such as flashing an e398 with the software of an E1 ROKR...there is lots. Check out that link i left.
 
yeah i heard about the howard forums from one of the reviews i read...still seems over my head though. you think thiers anywehre i could take it where a pro could hack it for me? and is this shit illegal...not that i care im just wondering?

no, you cant without updating the firmware. Verizon is a piece of shit and likes to lock out feaures which you have rightfully paid for.

They disable the OBEX profile which allows you to file transfer through BT.
 
you guys must have shit phones over there. We can do whatever the hell we want with ours. My phone links with my laptop anywhere in the office or home, i get my e-mails, my calendar, my meeting requests, my calendar updates by infared, I can bluetooth photos and MP3's from my phone to my PC, or to my mates phones, everything, what more do you need?
 
we have the same phones, but some providers lock some features of them so they can charge you for it.
 
I've got a motorola v186 and you can use a usb cable and download some software so you can put ringtones and pics on it for free.
 
When it breaks or something and you bring it to Verizon, isn't it not part of the warranty? Like when you bring your cell phone to those places in the mall that change the cover or antenna, they usually fuck it up, and you have to pay a lot to get a new phone.....right?
 
Yes! I hacked my V3 Razr! I flashed it to the 0ER flash and did a few seem edits and I now have video recording on my phone. If you want help send me a message and I'll see what I can do.
 
I have that phone. I found probably the same site you did. I was thinkinig about doing it and gave up. your best bet is to get a trans flash card. if you want to make your own ringtones, you put them mp3 on the card, then send it to a randomass number that you know wont work, through a text message. then, you go to your outbox and save it to your phones internal memory.
