Anyone else have "helmet" parents

So for some reason my parents want me (pretty much make me) wear a helmet all the time in skiing, biking, and inlining. It gets annoying when i just want to bike some where a short distance away and I have to wear a huge gaper helmet... I understand if im out mountain biking or hitting a rail inling but they want it ALL the time. They are pushin for pads inline...

Sorry for the rant, I just wanted to know if anyone elses parents were like this?

hahahahahah thats a great one thanks!

/anyone know where to get a stylish not massive helmet???? lol

i fractured my skull (small fracture but still) 2 years ago so i kind of need to. there are some pretty nice looking helmets these days though

i dont wear a helmet when i bike around unless im doing some serious biking but i always wear one skiing

well they do have a point with helmets, theyve saved me many a time and my friend almost died and was in a coma for 2 weeks from falling skiing. honestly wear something on there, and my opinion is that if your gonna put a brain bucket on it might as well be the best one, which is why i wear a POC. as for other pads, fuck em. other than hip/ass pads theyre useless and get in the way

You little shits are possibly all retarded... Your parents are telling you to wear a helmet because it only takes one crash to wind up fucked up or dead. Trust me, take it from a kid with more than a few concussions and actual brain damage(claim-asaurus rex).

And, about pads restricting movement, thats bullshit. Unless you're wearing pads that your uncle used when skateboards were still made from roller skates, pads have been improved quite dramatically. Wear them a few times and you figure out, they really arent bad.

Or go ahead and don't wear shit, get fucked up and learn for yourself.

So.......you dont want to put on something that could save your life? Unless your like 12....then grow up man

generally when it's important to wear a helmet i choose to wear one, like mountain biking or skiing on a resort. just biking and longboarding around town i don't wear one and i don't always take one up in the backcountry on long tours because it's a hassle and we're skiing wide open pow fields with little obstructions, i mainly wear a helmet inbounds so i don't get hit by other people

My parents force me to wear one skiing. I don't really care though because I love to put stickers on my helmet.

well its one of those cases, where parents are right (probably not for biking two blocks to your friends, but action sports in general)

my friends and i all wear helmets, they dont look that bad and it saves you from fucking yourself up. also you can put on helmet cams

My parents have always tooted the "wear a helmet" horn since I was 15 but they never once offered to buy one for me. Funny how parents operate.

I pretty much always wear a helmet.

Ya, my parents were like that when I was like 13 but not anymore, but anyways in Quebec you need to have a helmet to go in the park.

my mom was a hardcore helmet mom until i left for college. now she encourages it, but wont make me. i wear a helmet skiing 99.9999999% of the time. biking all the time. rarely for skateboarding, its just too damn hot.

but seriously, fuck pads. tell your mom you wont die from a scab. but the helmet, you really should just wear one.

yea my parents are the same but i dont mind as long as my helmet looks sick, which it does, but i hate when they push it with so many pads and stuff (my dads a doctor) maybe thats why...

Yeah, so my dad's work consists of reading cases about head injuries is kids under 18. He works at a children's hospital in neuro imaging and every day he comes home talking about all of these kids who have died, fucked themselves up, etc. from not wearing a helmet. He's always pushed for me to wear a helmet, he even tried to make me wear a helmet when i would go sledding when i was little haha. Now that im a little older, he honestly doesnt care that much. I really dont get it, I don't usually wear a helmet when i bike to a friends or whatever, and i dont wear one when im doing just rails/summer setup. I always wear on skiing, but its never like he nags me about it or anything. Wearing a helmet pays off though, and idk, but wearing one when i ski gives seems to give me more confidence to huck myself around.

my parents make me wear one for skiing and mtb (not that i wouldn't wear one anyways, because there's no reason not to), but if i'm just cruising around the hood on my bike or a longboard or something they don't care if i'm wearing a helmet or not.

This.
I wear a helmet whenever I park ski. Same thing with longboarding or inline... I would rather be safe then sorry.

yea, i think your dumber to not where a helmet, i get shit for wearing mine, but i honestly could recall 5 times this season where i should have been on a sled had it not been for my helmet

get educated, and dont do stupid stuff, just cause the pros dont wear one you dont have too, they make money for skiing, you dont

Yeah, I dont mind wearing a helmet skiing and mtb, but just biking around town is somewhat rediculous...

this is true^ just start sneaking off without it, and then they see u comeback fine, or boycot ur bike and make them firve u everywhere

You have to be forced to put one on? I mean it's pretty much just common sense to protect your head. I'm glad i'm just lucky to have parents that bought it for me because they care about my health.

Biking, never you just look retarded. Longboarding, don't really unless my parents watch me ride off, then just take it of. Skiing always, too many concussions, wore a helmet and no more problems

your 20 i thought your like 18
and my mom makes me wear one but it doest really bother me cause i feel like i can do more while wearing a helmet

haha parents will bug you about stuff like that for the rest of your life, its thier job. my granny still bugs my mom about being safe and stuff lol
