Anyone else have a problem with test anxiety

I studied a week straight for my math final today and knew everything backwards and forwards, and when i got the test imcompletely blanked on everything. Stuff from midterms that I got an A on, i just could not remember how to do. My mind blanked and I had to leave half the test blank.

It is VERY frustrating

if you have test anxiety what do you do to help yourself?

I dont have it quite that badly, but I always get really anxious before a big exam and forget stuff. Ill usually sit the entire exam time going over everything again just in case something else comes to me, which it usually does.
Try relaxing an hour before your exam and play video games or something and just dont even think or worry about the test. Worrying about it wont do you any good. I think relaxing beforehand is key. I try and just mellow out before an exam and not cram. And be positive about the outcome and tell yourself you have it all dialed.
That stuff helps me so maybe it will help you homie

sounds feasible, i lterally spent every moment studying right up to the minute i was handed my exam...then i ended up just staring at it for two hours

Ill keep it in mind, i cannot afford to put all this time in to get such an unworthy grade

nope, sorry. i study a fair amount and walk in with confidence that i've studied everything i needed to and will do on the test. and i know its not that simple, but dont wory about it, yes its an important test, but freaking yourself out does you no good

my argentinian friend takes xanax to calm him down the night before tests. you can get that over the counter in argentina but you gotta see a psychiatrist in the states, or by some from one of your friends.

i like to think im just studying again.
the last night i do a practice test. then when test day comes, im just doing the same questions, and i think im just studying... when you are in that mindset you should feel a lot better and work way more efficiently. i did that in chem, and got a 90. before when i wasnt... 70s. it has made a huge difference. try it. do a practice test the night before, then clam down and just think of the practice test when ur writing the real one, relating questions to ones you have done in the past (that u remember) helps a whole lot.

good luck. i hope tht makes sense ahha.

One of my roommates in college used to get so nervous before tests that sometimes on the way to class he would stop and and puke in the bushes and keep walking hahaha. I never knew why he was so nervous, he studied more than anybody I knew, and always did well. He's in the top of his class in dental school now...

I would prefer not to use drugs, I was on aderol for a few years but said fuck that this is the way I am, although i suppose it may be worth it when my future depends on it

Yea i did that for this one, a practice test was given out and I knew that thing front and back and the problems on the exam were very similar and i still could not get my brain working. It was just like a freak thing to happen. I was sitting there just frustrated as shit because i knew that i knew how to do it my stupid ass brain just wouldnt let me

It happens to me all the time and I fucking rage after the exam. I have one math exam tomorrow. I'll try to chill and relax the most as I can and hopefully it'll go right.

good luck guy, if it were up to me I wouldnt take math at all but a business/marketing degree requires quite a bit. Otherwise I would be a stupid communications major, or art major, but I would prefer to have a job when i graduate
