Anyone doing the level 1 park instructors this season?

no but i did it last year at glen eden.

it was super fun, pretty much all we did was shred the park and work on unnatural stuff for the first 2 days, then on the 3rd day he evaluated our teaching and we made this really shitty edit.

as long as you can teach a lesson, hit rails and spin a 3 you should be fine.
 
So if you get this, you've got it for more than one season? how long is it good for?
 
I believe your level 1 is good for life. But you have to keep your membership or level 1 card active to keep the pro deals and benifits. So if i dont teach for 12 years or whatever then i just have to re activate the card.
 
The certification is good for life. Many people don't know this but this course also gives you your Level 1 Instructors and yoru Level 1 Park Instructors. You only spend half a day really on "real skiing" techniques, then move to the park.If your going for this course its super easy, slide a rail and box, come off switch, go on switch. 180, switch 180. Suppose to be 5 hits in a pipe 3 of them 1 foot out, depending if you have a pipe or not. then just basic teaching techniques, but the instructor gives alot of them. Its a super easy but fun course!
 
thats what i was told so i thought hy not do it. Plus you get benifits such as pro deals which is always dope.
 
yeah that was pretty much my experience too, i did it at louis last year. we just rode park for the first 2 days then did a half day on the friday and just taught a mock lesson per person. super easy all you gotta do is 360 one way, 180 both ways and slide rails
 
i am fairly sure it does. thats what the instructor told us on the first the first day. although it was about 4 or 5 years ago i did it, it may have changed now
 
not anymore it doesn't.

i was thinking of getting back into teaching last season and contacted CSIA about where my certification stood and they told me im a "level 0 park and pipe instructor". the park and pipe aspect was converted to a module that is added onto your CSIA level.

this is why i'm taking the CFSA club coach course

they're such a clusterfuck. im doing my stuff now through Canadian Freestyle Skiing Association and Canadian Ski Coaches Federation.

The other benefit to doing the CFSA Level 1 is that they have Level 2 as well. I have development of a level 3 but, nothing final. You can also take aerial courses for coaching flips. These are more coach courses as well, and coaches are needed in Ontario. Check out the Freestyle Skiing Ontario website for more info. Good luck on whatever course you do.
