Anyone been to Amsterdam?

I live 20 minutes from Amsterdam. Amsterdam New York that is. If you wanna go there you can crash at my house for 35 a night. If you're talking about Amsterdam in Europe, which is most likely the case, I'd start by either using search engines like travelocity/expedia etc just to get a rough price on the going rate and then also look into hostels, which in Europe tend to be cheap and nice (experience from France)

The hostels in Amsterdam are really fun. I would reconsider. If you're set on hotels though, go to a bookstore and flip through some travel books.

the best way to stay in amsterdam is on a houseboat. a lot of people rent them out, and it's way more chill than the hostel scene, which can be totally overwhelming. do some google research and i bet you can come up with a pretty good deal. if you do end up in a hostel, the flying pig downtown is the way to go.
