So for school next year in AP Comp, there is a summer assignment. One book is assigned and then you get to pick the other book out of five choices. So if anyone has read any of these books, I would appreciate any input.

For Whom The Bell Tolls by: Hemingway

The Good Earth by: Pearl S. Buck

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by: Twain

Memoirs of a Geisha by: Arthur Golden

The Great Gatsby by: F. Scott Fitzgerald

Huck Finn isn't a bad read. The end of it is really hard to get through, but it's an easy one.

Here Comes A Special Boy!

the only one i havnt read is The Good Earth by: Pearl S. Buck. read the great gatsby no matter what, that book's really good. its one of my favorite books, and im one of those dorks that reads constantly, even out of class. For Whom the Bell Tolls is a classic, so you should read that eventually. Memwhatever of a Geisha is AMAZING but long. i would go with GG by F. Scott Fitzgerald, that book is really good. and keep in mind the drug refrences int he book, it really sheds light on the characters (Daisy is basically on Ether the whole time, thats why shes such a nut job.) Rent the movie, too, its alot like the book. Huck Finn SOUNDS like an easy, good biook to read, but unless you read really fast, get it on tape. i though i was going to DIE when i had to read it (after 8th grade going into English one Honors... where do you go to school???)

I've read For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Great Gatsby and Huck Finn. For Whom the Bell Tolls is the best, but I'm a huge Hemingway fan, however I would suggest reading The Great Gatsby if you haven't read any real Hemingway before. The Great Gatsby is a good read, as it's interesting and fast-paced, however it also is a good book to analyze.

I have read all of those, and I have a very short attention span as a reader and get bored quickly. The only one I liked was Memoirs of a Geisha, I couldn't put it down.

Yea, I've read all of them

The Great Gatsby by: F. Scott Fitzgerald is the best I think
