Anybody race Sailboats?

One of my non-winter pass times is sailboat racing. Its a weird and obscure sport but its a ton of fun! Almost everybody who I race with (or against) skis, but almost all of them Ski Race. Anybody here Sail?

You could say that. I take the bedsheets from your mom's bed and drive away with them blowing in the wind.

My ex is really into it and actually got me pretty interested in it. I just sail for fun though now that I have a boat, but idk if I will ever race though.

Yea growing up in Nova Scotia sailing was what it was all about. I think I am going to do the Marblehead to Halifax race next summer. Haven't done it in about 10 years now. Still figuring out who's boat were taking, but it looks like we'll be on a J160.

Chester race week was always a good time too. Definitely want to do that again soon.

In the mean time I gotta meet some rich people in Vancouver haha. Anyone here sail in BC?

I'm trying to buy a boat down here in Seattle eventually. Probably something along the lines of a Catalina 22. That's probably a ways out though...

C420 till i die, where do you race OP?

Buffalo NY! C420's are abundant here! there are 3 major fleets all probably 30min away from the heart of the city. The keelboat scene here is massive as well. 80+ boats on a typical Wednesday night.

F*** yeah! I've raced for the last 4 years in Ontario! Laser 99% of the time. Made provincial team and did pretty well. 2x provincial grand prix winner.

Currently coach a laser race team now in toronto :)

So hyped to see this after 13 years of sailing

Used to have a laser that we would fuck around with all the time in the summer, it was so much fun. Tornado took it up 20 ft in the air last summer and totaled the thing though, really bummed about that
