Anybody have subs or an upgraded sound system in an f150 extended cab

My friend has a really really sick system in his car. He made the sub holders himself in woods class. But you can hear him coming from way down the road and when we ride in it seems like the ground is shaking. I asked how much it cost him and he got his subs from craigslist so he said it didnt cost too much at all.

speakers should be easy, find out what size the stock f150's are and fit those or else cut out your door panels to fit 6.5"
A lot 'high schoolers' just put in huge subs by off brand companies that sound like crap. If you wanna do it right, upgrade your deck first, then your component speakers and amp those. After that is done and you have quality, add the bottom end and get some subs. If you're looking for a decent setup, I'd expect about $700 or so.

yeah dont just throw 6 twelve inchers in and call it a day, do it right and get the whole setup =]

ya exactly.. I have a 10" too, but then again it's a 10" alpine type-r and I'm pushing 550 watts rms to it haha so it doesn't sound like a 10" at all.
But ya, the biggest thing is to get nice speakers to compliment your system and amp them, it will be a huge difference. I can have my volume to the point of blowing my ears out with absolutely no distortion because my speakers and my amps are high quality. If you're looking for some brands, I would recommend infinity and alpine, my favorites by far.
