I've been looking into checking out their film program there, and maybe transferring in.

Anyone go there that can give me an idea about the school and all? I know Ashland's kinda a sweet little town, and there's skiing sorta nearby.. so, it looks pretty attractive.

also, how is mt. ashland? it seems like it has some short steep stuff, and gets some okay pow.. is there a halfway legit park there?

my family lives down in medford and has season passes at ashland. i

dont know much about the mt. besides the fact that it is tiny so they

come ski with me at bachy nearly every weekend. i will get some info

this weekend and get back to ya. as for ashland, its a place you gotta go visit before you move, thats all im gonna say about it.

word.. i'm rollin thru there again on my way to hood on sunday, so i'm probably going to check it out a little more than I already have.

either way, i'd be moving there for school primarily...

i went there for my first week of college a few years ago then dropped out and switched to OSU cascades just because the town is kinda funky and not really my style. check into OSU cascades, if they have the degree you are goin for you should consider it. im going down to medford this weekend and i will get the skoop on mt. ashland and get back to ya.

word. sou is the only one with the legit program i'd want in oregon..

its more of a safety school if i dont get into montana, but still could be sweet.

Ashland has a bunch of cranky old people so watch for that. All the weirdos hang out in the park.(bums, drugees, hippie, etc.) A lot of people go to that park for larping. larping is like lord of the rings in real like except its a bunch of nerds running around with plastic swords pretending. If you have ever seen role models its in there. But other than that i don't think there are toooo many skiaz there. However Pep fujas grew up there and his parents are still in a ranch farm thing ther. (my math teacher was his friend way back when ha) so yeah Ashlands kinda weird. unless thats what your into! J

Haha definitely not worried about druggies and hippies.. i'm from berkeley, basically.. so ashland couldnt possibly compete.

and that larping you're talking about definitely sounds like some of the shakespearean shit that goes on there becuase of the oregon shakespeare festival and shit... so that makes sense.

and as nerdy as it sounds, that sounds fucking fun as shit running around having an epic sword battle for no reason haha

i use to ski ashland 75 times a year, still live in medford but now i buy passes for shasta and bachelor because ashland is the worst run thing i have ever been around, most the year the park will consist of 1 line jacked up bent box that comes into a not kidding 4 foot rail or line 2 a ten foot jump that in not the correct dimesions. there is some good steeps the pow lacks greatly compared to bachelor the lifts are dreadful and break everyother weekend. didnt go to sou but alot of my friends did seems alright. oh yeah if you skied there one day you will feel like you are best ever like 4 people have twins and can do anything switch.

sorry kinda random i was just typing my thoughts, overal the mountain a good small town vibe , but not much else to offer

Yeah.. pretty much nothing better than running around causing havoc in that way.. reminds me of something i did in san francisco last summer with my friends...

It was like this - only much bigger and wayyy more cardboard flying around...

Gish put it perfect on what mt. ashland is like. One positive thing though about being in ashland is your like 30 minutes from the mountain( depending if they plowed the road!!) and its only like an hour to mt shasta. Shasta has a pretty solid park...and if you hit it on a pow day you can fresh lines all day because most of the ppl who ski their are afraid of the trees. But southern oregon is pretty solid.
