Anybody ever worry about a tm?

So i see a lot of you guys have a small production company and I'm wondering if any of you get it trade marked or what you do about it? Im wondering cause i don't want to get sued or anything like that...

 
If someone else has the name which i looked up on google and there were like 10 results... but no one else had the trademark and the companies hadn't been updated in a while so i don't know if i should even wrry bout it
 
its not cheep, Ive recently done it for the hot sauce company I'm starting-takes 6-12 months and could even take more....through the govt its about 375 but the paperwork sucks....i used legal zoom came to about 645 i get my priliminary results back hopefully early this week I'm pumped. If it looked good its off to the GOVT and fingers crossed it will go through in 6-12 months.

Just something to think about before you get your mind set on it
 
yeah this...if you wanna get serious serious about it, it takes time and money, i just use mine so people have something they always see and recognize as mine, but if i was gonna make a big company out of it, then this would be the way to go for sure. and if you got a bid for a TM put in before the other companies with the same name, technically you would be the one allowed to have it
 
Yea thx guys i don't plan on trying to start a big business i just want to make sure it is ok to "Claim" a name with out getting in any trouble... as long as I'm not stealing a name from somewhere else i should be find tho right?
 
yea you should be fine-do a little searching your self as well, a few sites have searches set up to help you see if the name is already trademarked... Even is a company is using the name and doesn't have a TM you should be ok to use it as well...honestly even ifs its TM and your a tiny company not plastering your self all over the place making cash you should be ok-not legal or ethical but you could potentially get away with it.
 
Fuck yah i'm always worried about my tm's, I wanna give earthquake and blizzard to my pokemon but i can't decide who gets what! If only I hadn't given that one pokemon cut...
