Anybody else shocked by NS members in real life?

Ok soo im sure this has happened to most memebers in real life, but does anybody like see or hear members in real life and shocks them a little bit. Its like we come on this site, and we see how long the people have been on this site, and how much their post count is and we think they are totally different people. Like the other day, i was listening to NS radio ( Doug's show), and he phoned up nonmensteven. ( nothing on here is to offend nonmentsteven.....you are still super awsomeguy, and i would have sexytime with you anytime) But like i felt that he was just soo young. Like i look at his post count, and i feel that he schould be older, or something like that.

I dunno. I guess im the one who is too old. It just showed me that honestly.......like these profiles on NS sometimes don't reflect the people behind them. I dunno i think im just blabing now. So if you understand anything i am saying, has this ever happened to you?
 
Like the other day....i don't know who it was, but someone was making fun of my post count. Then i met them in tremblant or something like that, and they almost shit themselves. It just goes to show you never know who is on here, or who you could be really talking to.
 
throughout my travelings on ns i usually get a picture in my head about how a person looks. and then when i see a picture of them or something it's way different.
 
i know, when i heard how old nomensteven was i was pretty surprised, cause of his post count and how much knowledge he has about skiing
 
I met some kids at Sun Peaks 2 days ago and I skied with one of them for a while, he was 13, I'm 17. My buddy was "hurt" and I didn't have anybody to roll with. fun stuff though, said he was gonna send me a message, wasn't really shocked though it was cool to actually meet sombody from ns, especially in sun Peaks where there are very few people on twins.
 
theres certain people who clearly know a lot, and you can tell by the way their rants are super good, and if theyre arguing they always win. those people i usually expect to be older.
 
haha yeah, me too, for instance, i picture nomensteven looking like the yellow dude in his icon, i don't know why either

i've met many newschoolers in my day (mostly this week at SR) and i'm usually not too shocked. it's kinda just a surreal feeling actually seeing them in real life, not just seeing them posting and such. i like meeting ns'ers though, it's fun!
 
yea i havent met anyone on NS but when i heard how young sean was in one of his threads i was surprised because of his post count
 
i dunno i see people with high post counts i think they are younger because the kids in school have more time and as you get older you have less time to do thingss like go on NS
 
Eh, I really haven't been that surprised, for the most part. I've met a ton of NSers, though. Most of them have been relatively close to my age (early twenties), so they're in the older population of NS. I met Tanakaskier the other week. He and I have hung out a couple of times now, and, although he may have been voted "Most Annoying Member" on NS, he's actually incredibly chill and mature for a fifteen-year-old. He seems like a good kid, and he definitely knows a ton about skiing, filming, and the like. He's the youngest NSer I've met but acts less immature and knows more than some of the 23-year-olds.

Dude, I didn't even know you were on NS until I had already left Mt. Hood, and I was soooo surprised when I found out who you were on NS. That was really weird. I'll kick yo ass, Noyes.
 
i always hate when you expect someone from ns to be a sick rider and a chill person just by how they talk on the forums. Then you meet them and they suck balls and are annoying as hell, happened to me once...
 
i hung out with jklops and mi(scra)tch and there both mad chillll, and ive skiied with a bunch of other members who are all pretty cool
 
I have a really cool NS STORY...

So once upon a time I hit on this chick Named parkin' from Co. back in like 2001 on ns. We started to chat a little and then we stopped talking, About 4 years later I'm at an RjD2 Concert In Ottawa, And I meet this random good looking chick and dance with her almost the entire show. I end up getting her MSN and that was that, since she said she had a guy and all...

So down the road were were talking ON MSn, and she set her screen name was titled Parkin, And then with the dawning realization of just how small a world it is, and the fact that i'd been conversing with her other screen name the whole long while not knowing She had an NS account....

And then this other time I actually touched Matt Harvey's afro... True Story
 
Haha thanks bro, you CT guys were pretty cool too. Too bad I had to leave with all that beer! Oh well, finished it off the next afternoon haha.

I've never been shocked my ns members. all the ones I've met in real life are pretty much the same online as in person. actually, I was surprised to find Sean to be white. I always thought he was black before I actually met him.
 
from people ive met they are generally what ive expected.

and ive been told by some that i am younger then what my posts would say

and ive been told by others that i am older...
 
yea it is kinda weird meeting ns kids that youve e-known for so long

everyone always seems pretty chill to me
