Anybody been to Switzerland?

That'd be like asking what skiing in the US is like. It depends on the mountain. I've been to Disentis and Laax, and I'm going to Zermatt this February. Disentis was tons of powder, but zero visibility every day due to fog. Laax was enormous and fun, but it took forever to get from one place to another. But it all depends on where you go.

I've been to Wengen, Verbier, Veysonaz, Villars and Morgins. I like skiing in switzterland. It really differs between different resorts though!

this....verbier is sick although is horribly signposted and the park isnt all that good for a resort if its size but yeh it is all upto where you go

I've to verbier recently and some of the smaller lower down resorts when i was younger...

it's reasonably expensive compared to french resorts, but most resorts are quite picturesque and stuff....

snow conditions can change quickly in the alps, personally my best experience has been around easter time - Fresh pow in the morning, soft slush in the afternoon for park...

Also you can go offpiste (out of bounds) and not get arrested for it, but the avi risk is always high so go with a guide and carry a probe, shovel, transceiver etc..

If you can't speak french then most people can speak english, unlike in france where you need some basics :)

The terrain is a lot steeper across the whole of the alps, so be prepared!

Swiss girls are beautiful; I know cos i dated one :)

Verbier, Gstaad, Glacier 3000, Flims/Laax, Flumserberg, Crans Montana...
Do you have any particular questions though? Like.. off-piste, park, apres-ski?
Switzerland is dope, as are all the European alps buut Switzerland is more expensive.. especially St. Moritz and Zermatt. If you want the Swiss version of Le Grave check out Saint Bernard. Really wanna go there!
As for the comments about zero visibility.. bit stupid as that's completely dependent on the weather. Most European alps do not have the tree density of US resorts.

I was in saas fee this summer but i only got the chance to ski 4 times cos of work. it was pretty good, the lines in the park aren't well thought out at all but the jumps and the pipe are sweet and the big rail features are really nice too. It's also a great place to party, popcorn is rad, so is karaoke at libertine.

Ive been to LAAX in the winter, It was probably the most amazing mountain Ive ever been to, it just never ends so much terrain and good snow!

people don't go to verbier for the park......its a resort for steep lines - heard of the Bec des rosses or maybe the FWT?

have you beeen to a french resort recently?

its like twice the price of switzerland lol.

To OP Switzerland is probably the best place i have ever gone, and my heart is definitely stuck here. Im in Nendaz (4 vallees ski area)

park wise sucks unless you ski to tyhon every day. (only like half hour ski away)

i lived in switzerland for a little over a year. ive skied at lots of resorts over there. if you have any specific questions just pm me.

I've been there twice, both times during the late spring/summer though so I'm no help for skiing. It's a beautiful country, quite expensive though.

parents went to zermat like 5 years ago and they said it was amazing... have fun man

and and wat he said about look around and such

Really...?

Dude...France is sooo much cheaper than Switzerland it's not even cool anymore.

Except for Christmas holidays and easter france is dirt cheap.

I'm going to Avoriaz with 15 buddies for 350€, that's all incl: Ski-pass (8 days), house, bus drive to there...

That's so cheap...

im in zermatt right now and its so rad. they have the best bump run and a perfect pipe and some pretty nice jumps.

guessing by your dp you are dutch? in which case you are already in euros right? so guess it makes it cheaper for you. but Avoriaz sucks balls :P
