Hahaha, this thread is so far from what I thought it was going to be. With that said, Im going on almost 10 years on NS. This will be my 10th winter in Utah and the first I didn't buy a season pass. My wife and I are expecting our first in February.
I still kept my snowmobile as my days will probably be less frequent than they once were, I prefer to spend my days brappin. Hard to say what my little girl will want to do. I certainly will teach her how to ski as soon as she can walk and if its her thing, I look forward to many more years of driving to and from the hill.
Although skiing is certainly looked at as a menial recreational pursuit by the majority of 'responsible' profit seeking adults, in retrospect, it provided a direction and outlet for my adolescent/young adulthood that I feel so fortunate to have had especially in comparison to all of my peers who ambivalently wallowed in their own dispair getting from there to here. Do I wish that for my daughter!? Sure I do, there are worse places to shape the future of a kid that the communities of ski resorts.
I'm excited that I will still be able to k-fed a rail by the time she is transitioning from pizza to french fry!. Or we will move to the beach. The end.
