Figure this is the friendliest place to ask.

Anyone have any experience developing a website with Magento and would be willing to help me out with two major problems I am having.

Would be appreciated!
 
can't say i'm an expert, but i might be able to help you out. looked into using magento for a few projects but ended up using other technologies for various reasons. what's not working for you?
 
http://thegolfoutlets.com this is the site I am developing, there are these polls on the side that were part of the store when I installed magento. I would like to put new things on the side bar.

I cannot figure out how to change the side bar, its not under CMS, its not part of the template files, it is a complete mystery... to me at least.
 
yeah magento is a sneaky bastard. i'm at work right now, so i won't really be able to dedicate any time to looking into it til later tonight.
