few friends and i got a condo in the town of whitefish for just over a week and want to ski alot and go to glacier park and do what ever else there is to do. what other fun stuff is there off the mtn? any good hole in the wall food places? whats the vibe around that area with herbals? am a fairly aggressive skier off the beating path any good particular good powder or tree runs?

any kind of info or insight is much appreciated. thanks.

On mobile but I can at least get you started.

The good news is you chose to visit on a great snow year just make sure to bring your low light lens. Glacier's main road is open till Avalanche lake last I checked which is a fun couple mile hike. There are other places to check out but I'd say definitely hit up that. You just have to be lucky and catch it on a sunny day to see the views. As far as other activities, I'd say just your typical night life for a ski town. The powder/runs are dependent upon the weather. What week are you coming up?

on mobile? like cell phone mobile??

were gonna be there jan 7 til about the 14th or so. thats good to know about the main glacier road cause ya ive heard it gets closed down easily.

You can check current GNP road status on this page:http://home.nps.gov/applications/glac/roadstatus/roadstatus.cfm

Per usual during the winter, it's closed at Lake McDonald Lodge. XC skiing, snowshoeing, and touring up into the Snyder/Brown basins are all available. Most folks looking to see the park end up at the Apgar boat dock though, and that has better views than the lodge.

There's a free shuttle from the hill to Whitefish called the SNOW bus. It's a good way to skip driving up and down all the time/not drive while drunk off your ass. Here's the schedule:http://www.bigmtncommercial.org/documents/SNOWbusSchedule_4.pdf

Eats. Tons of bars. For breakfast, I'd recommend The Buffalo Cafe or Swift Creek Cafe. Lunch and dinner: Jersey Boys Pizza, Wrap n Roll, Wasabi (sushi), Caio Mambo, Haskill Station. Great Northern brewing makes a decent beer, but while at Safeway, I'd recommend checking out Cold Smoke from Kettlehouse (made in Missoula).

By the time you're here, the EZ Air Park should be rolling, but who knows. Should be a fun evening activity.https://www.facebook.com/FlatheadEZAir

Don't expect much from food on the hill, but I can recommend the Hellroaring Saloon. Their nachos are a local classic. Bierstube isn't bad either.

You'll have a good time, regardless. There's a reason we live here.

Dam that was an awesome right up! Seriously thank you so much I'll def plus K for that! Awesome info I def have a few things I wanna do now and what to look for. I have a feeling I'm not gonna wanna leave after being there for just over ten days. Thanks again much appreciated and feel free to say hey if ya want during those dates.

Make sure you check out Second Street Pizza and the Bulldog. Hit me up if you guys need a local to shred with.

By the way, when you're in Columbia Falls on your way to the park. You have to eat at Tien's Place. It's oriental, but he has everything. Best burger and philly anywhere in the area. If you get the chance, meet Tien and tell him Adam sent you.
