So any fellow NSers into windsurfing these days? I started a few years ago but never really got that into it before I got a car last summer but now I have as much fun windsurfing as I have skiing witch is great.

If you windsurf what kind of windsurfing are you into and what gear do you use? Personally I am just starting to get the hang of jibes etc on my 105L freeride board and I'm hoping to start more jumping and get a fsw board around 90-95L before the fall comes around with more wind.

And to get some windsurf stoke going here are some photos/edits, if you do happen to windsurf and got some photos or videos of yourself post up!

I love windsurfing but I am finding it very difficult to get a setup in Utah. I'm not looking for anything special, just an old rig that'll go with the wind for cheap.

Nice bump, I love windsurfing. I'm not good and it's hard to go much cus I can only use my parents old gear but man is it quite the physical and mental challenge and is very fun.

I’ve always seen people wind surfing out on Lake Erie or in the harbor and it looks fun and scary af

I could get going up to like 30 knots at least on a 6.9 sail if the wind was good. I used to do it on vacation in columbus isle in the bahamas. I could use a harness and jibe and tack no problem but i couldnt get airborn like the pros do. Its really fun tho. I have never kiteboarded but i dont know if i would find kiteboarding as fun as windsurfing.

My dad used to go out with a lead weight belt so he could use a bigger sail in heavy wind. My mom kinda put a stop to that when I was born but he still rips.

my dad was huge into it back in the day so naturually i did a bit as a kid. I honestly really enjoy it but yeah its hard to find places to do it. he kiteboards a lot now so ive tried getting into kiting but it freaks me out way more that windsurfing. ive been lifted right out of the water/ground too many times to count, not a fun time. Im interested in Wingsurfing as a new sport that combines the fun of both sports but prob wont be able to try it anytime soon

All of my parents' friends who they used to windsurf with kite board primarily now. Personally I think it looks more fun as well but also more dangerous.

yeah same here. there is potential for huge air and tricks, my dads doing like 20-30ft jumps at 60 years old but kiting def still sketches me out for some reason. maybe one day

I have my dads old set up but it’s pretty heavy and it’s difficult to plane so I am always kind of hoping I come across a better board for cheap but hasn’t happened yet. The wind on our lake is a little wonky, tends to swirl and can be frustrating but it’s fun on the right day
