Haven't been on this website in well over a year, just wondering if the music taste has changed a bit.

ex. Dads, Joyce Manor, William Bonney, Algernon Cadwallader, ect.

he's talking about emo as a musical genre, not the wear black every day and cut yourself for attention kind of person

Oh God yes

My favs are "I use my own tears as lube" and "I wear my hair like a girl because I'm dark and tortured, not the other way around"

hahaha first one that came up when I googled scene wolf

Yeah, you all have it wrong. I'm not talking about scene fan girl shit. Emo is a huge genre of music with two completely different scenes. The kind of emo I'm talking about has quick guitar riffs and usually pretty sad lyrics and that's a;; that qualifies it as "emo". Most people hate emo because of the bad reputation that follows it (i.e. cutting) and haven't actually heard the rest of the genre.

they're a close second behind creed. i love having my face covered in scott stapp's salvation

yes. joyce manor is one of my favorites and i'm seeing the menzingers in november.

/images/flash_video_placeholder.pngheres my contribution to this thread. gotta always respect the classics

I saw joyce manor like 2 years ago, when they played at the house of vans in brooklyn with titus andronicus, cursive and somebody else.

So jealous man. Their shows look rad! I almost saw them at some house show with Glocca Morra and Algernon Cadwallader but had to work.

I refuse to believe that Joyce Manor and Algernon Cadwallader are emo bands, becasue I actually like that shit. Anyone heard of Donovan Wolfington, I'm into it right now

yea i dont really think any of the bands in this thread are emo... more punkish i'd say but who gives a hoot?

lolololololololololololololololololollolololololololololololololololollolololololololololololololololololollolololololololololololololololollolololololololololololololololololollolololololololololololololololollolololololololololololololololololollolololololololololololololololollolololololololololololololololololollolololololololololololololololollolololololololololololololololololollolololololololololololololololol

I love Donovan Wolfington. But yea I don't know they're the only type of emo that I like. The twinkly shit. I guess they're just considered emo because of the sad lyrics.

I remember a day this was considered new emo music.... music video is pretty great

/images/flash_video_placeholder.png

and Chiodos is the shit as well

Cap'n jazz? Does that even count? I feel like a lot of bands pull their names form their songs. Scary kids scaring kids, which reminded me of them in the first place, and we are scientists.

hell yeah, american football for me is my favorite but i listen to a lot of the world is a beautiful place and i am no longer afraid to die and snowing. just found this real dope band, mallard, who are from philly i've been gettin real into lately

post-folk? how do you figure? i know you are one of the shittiest trolls NS has seen in a while so its stupid to ask you, but on the offchance that you could actually justify emo resembling ANY folk roots at all, I gotta ask.

man, no matter how bad simple plan, good charlotte, yellow card etc. were, I would do anything to have them back on the radio instead of all the nig beats they play now.

So this thread is dead, but I know you emo NS'ers are out there and this is kinda neat and/or funny

isthisbandemo.com

Try throwing in some artists and see what happens, emo or not.
