Entertain the idea that your perspective is narrow.

You said you can see that I'm not much of an investor because I called out someone's lack of knowledge on cryptocurrencies. I never said that cryptos are forever and perfect, I never even made a claim about them. I can talk all day about their faults. Literally the only point I was making is that that one dude obviously hasn't studied it. lol

In other news, Robinhood is now hosting Bitcoin and Ethereum investing. More currencies to follow... Did I mention that Robinhood has zero transaction fees?a

I don't see any personal attacks, didn't write any. It's ridiculous that simply mentioning the idea of vulnerability in this sector is met with hostility.

JOHN PAULSON WAS KNOWN BY SHORT STOCKING THE HOUSING MARKET WHEN IT BLOATED AND CRASHED.

AS OF TODAY BITCOIN IS AT $8,500, A FUCKING MASSIVE DROP FROM 2 MONTHS AGO. OK IT AINT A HOUSING CRISIS BUT THE TEARS OF YOUR MILLENNIAL CRISIS IS GREAT FOR ME ON TOP OF THE MASSIVE PROFIT EARNED FROM SHORTING THIS OBVIOUS FUCKING BUBBLE! FUCK YOU ALL!

I'm buying satellite radio.

Local exotic car rental is now accepting bitcoin, ripple, ethereum and monero. You frequently get the cash discount price when you buy precious metal bullion with bitcoin. Those people must only imagine it going up in value. And a litecoin credit/debit cars is supposed to be on the horizoncoming Feb. 26th. Yea the price fluctuates a lot right now but if you offer me 20 litecoin to buy my motorcycle, i’m not gonna say no. Most of us can agree in maybe 5 years 90% of the coins could be gone/worthless but the ones that stick will moon. Just keep diverse holdings and keep up on the technology and news and redistribute your holdings as it goes

Like I said before, still not a safe enough investment for me. Doubt it will be something I’d recommend or reconsider no matter what happens within 5 years^

LOL I havent been on this thread in a minute. You clearly didnt follow the thread too close. I cashed out a couple days after Christmas. I turned my less than $5k investments into a new car that I bought without a loan, plus a large boost to my savings account. I did buy back into Ripple a while ago and am sitting well with that too.

I will always promote the suicide hotline referred for anyone who needs it, but its not needed here.

What platform do you use to trade? when did you buy? 5 grand investment to buy a new car... what kind of car? i should have turned $400 in to 1 million. But who gives a fuck right?

I use many platforms for crypto to crypto trading but I wire transfer out to fiat from coinbase.

I bought in before and some shortly after creating this thread. Last June/July.

As for the car, I bought a 2018 CLA250.

I'm a finance major and the things that most people in finance academia have to say about cryptocurrency is absolutely obnoxious. Like that it has nothing behind it... Then they admit that it has blockchain behind it, but their uneducated idea of what blockchain really is blinds them to the value of it and cryptocurrency as a whole

Considering buying back in since prices are low. Cashed out before the bubble and mad a couple hundred bucks. Could have been a lot more had I waited til december

This is true. Blockchain is the great idea in all of this. Bitcoin is just the best to market it. Individualized blockchain trading is the future, not one universal coin using blockchain.

companies are already adapting it as a tool for purchasing and selling their product to business partners. really quite a good idea and a lot of money in it.

Bitcoin is still the undisputed king in crypto. I don't see that changing anytime soon. There are just too many uneducated people that are investing into whatever will give good returns regardless of the tech behind the coin. This will change (if bitcoin dosen't update their tech)

I agree... it's become a commodity but it has no real value besides the price ppl are willing to pay for it, which i believe ultimately will be 0$ right now its all speculatory because its a brand new concept to most people. You have all these people who just simply want to get rich who are investing because they see the prices skyrocketing. ultimately it's blockchain that holds the value in my opinion.

I’m dead my portfolio was bleeding hard. Hard to say it’s gonna be $0 though. Look at all the countries teetering on default and it’s just a matter of time before the U.S. is there which will be global economic chaos. Like precious metals (although far more) it’s price may fluctuate but it will never be zero and I’m more comfortable holding than dollars. I could see that 95% of altcoins may be worthless in a few years and that is healthy for blockchain, but some have real value. Right now I’m liking litecoin, ripple, and some supply chain like origintrail, ambrosus, cargox and other erc20s. Dent is very intriguing in regards to cellular data purchasing but who knows how that’ll go.

Blockchain is a way to use cryptography, which is math. What do you think it has behind it?

How could the use of blockchain possibly hold value? The first thing the guy who made Bitcoin did with his blockchain algorithms is make them open source, so literally any bank that's wants to add this idea to their app and back it by the US dollar can do so.

think he ,means blockchain technology is a useful thing , not that it makes bitcoin valueable

Big infrastructure investments made by real people in ASIC miners and miners using GPUs

I'm mostly interested in bitcoin and lite coin, but currently only holding lite coin. if bitcoin goes to 5-6k, I'll invest more. I think it's the future currency

I disagree with the blanket statement of it being THE future currency (but my opinion is as worthless as anyone else). I think it will be a major player, but there will be multiple cryptos in play if cryptos are truly the future. That is why I like investing in the cryptos with specific target practices and markets. In my opinion, cryptos will be localized to specific markets. Bitcoins will be a player in it and may be the daily common man trade, but it wont be the only major player.

My 2 cents

Which is exactly why companies are employing people to build it for their businesses. its a billion dollar idea and soon a good amount of business will be using it. Thats fucking how. It's not a fake currency that is backed by speculation. It's a useful tool .

It's a new way to utilize cryptography (math). It's not like Litecoin is going to make money when Wells Fargo makes a transaction written utilizing the ideas behind blockchain. A useful tool only MAKES MONEY when it's sold or provided as a unique service, not when it's given away for all to adapt to their own business models. Blockchain is very interesting stuff, I love to sit and think about some of the great stuff you could build with Ethereum. However this conversation is in regards to investment, and that is a very very difficult conversation for the crypto side in my opinion. Not impossible to hold value, but very tough to justify over other investment options. The value of the US dollar is backed by the continued ridiculous growth and production of the US economy. What are the cryptos you like backed by? How do they make money? If you can't answer that, it's not an investment. I'm not trying to be a dick dude, you don't have to get butthurt because you like it so much. I think it's cool stuff.

You're not being a dick because you're not making sense. The idea of blockchain is already being transformed and designed to now be utilized in the Production and industrialization industry. it's not about crypto currency anymore its about Business 2 business transactions. It's not going to be blockchain it's going to be the idea of blockchain implemented in software for corporations to buy and sell their products seamlessly. Everyone can see what everyone else is doing on blockchain, thus economics 101 - supply and demand can take full effect. It's already being developed and utilized and the developers are making plenty of money. Blockchain is worth much more than bitcoin itself because it it's a service and not an invisible speculative "digital currency".

This could actually be a pretty big deal for B2B. I haven't heard of this point before so its hard to say what the direct impact of this could be...

I would guess that the effect for the average consumer would probably be negligible. The first big thoughts I have about the B2B would be financial transparency, auditing, etc.. Although, if a company wants to make a suspicious/secret transaction, they can always use traditional means.

It's going to be a big deal for companies that choose to use it. I feel that once it catches on its going to be a big change in the Business world especially in the manufacturing industry.

Yes. So why do you disagree with me? That's what I said. And I also said that service can be created and provided by companies themselves. I'm not sure what you're point is.
