I'm an able-bodied skiier but ski with a lot of adaptive skiiers, so I'm curious how many other girls out there are involved in adaptive?

I work with kids and adults with physical/mental disabilities, as well as disabled veterans. it's an amazing experience!

View attachment 629243When I was a ski instructor I was lucky enough to be able to do a lot of adaptive training. I never ended up getting my certification, but I loved it. When I broke my hand they just used me as the test dummy in the sled, which was awesome and terrifying. I was getting to the point where I could go 4,000 vert on my own, with outriggers. They also liked to take me off jumps, which was so scary. I wish I could get more involved where I moved, just don't have the connections up here.

I work with a bunch of big guys so I'm usually the training subject haha. Also they like to share the shit out of me on occasion.

IVe never heard of this but holy shit. That is fucking awesome. To give someone the chance to ski again after some kind of accident or even just the chance to ski for the first time is so incredible. This is so rad. I'm speechless.
