Heres a nice little article I wanted to share with you guys. Blame the movie.Blame the movie.Even though "the movie" was on YouTube for months prior to the collective indignation of thousands of Middle Eastern Islamists all coming together on the eleventh anniversary of September 11th (through a wild coincidence, no doubt), we are being told by our government and our media overlords that we must blame the movie. You see, if we blame the movie for the burning of our foreign outposts and the brutal murders of four Americans (including our Libyan ambassador who was reportedly raped), we won't blame the burners and the looters and the murderers and the rapists. You see, if we blame the movie for the Middle East burning, we won't blame the Islamists who are doing the burning and looting and raping and murdering.Which means we won't further connect the dots and blame Obama's failed Middle East policy; the Obama Doctrine of backing away from the region and allowing events to unfold as America stands idly by -- as the Islamists in the Muslim Brotherhood grab hold of power in Egypt, a country that was once our largest and closest ally.Blame the filmmaker.Hunt him. Out him.Demonize him.Burn the straw man![/b]And all at the direction of a president of the United States who has sworn to uphold the Constitution, you know, the same Constitution that treasures the right of free expression and speech above all else. But no one asks … What about Bill Maher?Bill Maher?[/i]Bill Maher made a comedy/documentary called "Religulous" that's most famous for mercilessly mocking Christianity. But what people forget is that the last twenty-minutes or so of the film make a damning case against Islam.Bill Maher made a film that mocked Islam.Oh, yes, he did.Bill Maher also contributed $1 million to a pro-Obama super PAC.And I'm sure that upon being reminded of this, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will tremble with self-righteous indignation and demand Maher take his money back. After all, if movies create the terrorists who in turn create the terrorism, what about Bill Maher? And what if the terrorists learn that the president of the United States is benefitting from a million dollar contribution given by a filmmaker who mocked Islam? How will Hillary Clinton claim with any credibility that the United States government has no connection to this outrage? How will White House spokesman Jay Carney say this with any credibility:“The reason why there is unrest is because of the film,” he said at one point. “This is in response to the film.” At another moment, he said, “The cause of the unrest was a video.” At yet another, “These protests were in reaction to a video that had spread to the region.”And the lapdog media just can't stop humping a leg of lies. It's weird, though, isn't it?I mean, how Hollywood has been silent in its defense of the filmmaker Obama is currently scapegoating (and in some cases, Hollywood is grabbing a torch), even as they embrace Bill Maher.Well, I guess some anti-Islamic filmmakers are more equal than others. And thank heavens, we have Barack Obama to tell us who the more equal ones are.

Read it all and have nothing really to say but I can tell you are extremely biased against Obama for some reason or another, .

OH MY GOD. SOMEONE DONATED TO OBAMA, THEREFORE OBAMA SUPPORTS THEM. BECAUSE PEOPLE PICK AND CHOOSE WHO CAN AND CANNOT DONATE TO THEIR FUND.

oh my god. being european i hereby say that obama is done for. what a joke. i mean what a joke.

NOT.

comon dude. cannot be serious. are you getting paid for this pro-isreal, anti-obama and anti-muslim shit? tune it down a notch. thats not intelligent discussion, this is downright propaganda.

Sure, everything in the article is true, but that doesn't mean it isn't propaganda.

Bill Maher certainly gave money to Obama, and he did mock Islam in Religulous. Your article makes it seem like Alan Roberts backed Obama. Bill Maher backing Obama has nothing to do with the attacks in the middle east.

Trying to argue that the attacks weren't sparked by the Alan Roberts film is a little silly too. I'm not saying the people who attacked weren't keen to attack the embassy anyway, but the video gave them another reason to do it. Does this mean the video shouldn't have been made? No. Its a shitty situation but it is what it is, and if you think one man as president will actually make a difference to stuff like these attacks, you're fooling yourself.

Its more of the fact that the Obama administration is condoning an act of freedom of speech yet at the same time is accepting money from a guy who is saying the same things as this guy in the video. If he agrees with Bill Maher than why doesn't his foreign policy reflect it?

That is the other thing, I'm sure Obama would take money from neo-nazis, terrorists, pornstars, drug dealers or whoever, becuase all you have to do to support Obama is go on his webpage. Just because someone gives him money doesn't mean he agrees with their every belief.

Fear of the muslim brotherhood is an orientalist practice. They are the main source of democracy in the region. Additionally, our ties with Egypt are starting to get better than ever. Also, we shouldn't fucking impose our will on other countries, if they democratically choose to have an islamic state, let them!

I normally stay out of political matters; but if this article is in fact correct as I have not researched it further, then my opinion is as follows.

If crazy radical Christians such as Westboro Baptist would have seen the anti-christian video and responding in a irrational way do you know how people would have reacted?

They would have realized that the radicals were crazy to respond how they did. The public would view them as crazy.

Now take the same situation but plug in a video mocking Islam and instead of Westboro Baptist or another radical christian group with a group of Islamic radicals.

Now instead of blaming the radicals who reacted irrationally we blame an American filmmaker who makes a mockery of another people group just as nearly every late night show does... Damn

The guy is an egyptian christian but I do agree as well. Muslims are some of the biggest crybabies. Who care if the video offends them? Those of us who believe in the values of the enlightenment and constitution are extremely offended by this ridiculous behavior.

Remember when this shit happened with the danish cartoons? Hitch puts it nicely.

Oops. This is why I usually stay out of politics... I don't really keep up with everything as well as I should but oh well you still get the point

oh, you mean like when that one man starts a war without approval from congress. then that man basically said he can do what he wants haha.

guy puts the muslims in their place on that one. to be honest though i have no recollection of this event except for the south park that mocked it.

your post is a sad commentary to what i feel is indicative of the lack of worldy knowledge that is prevalent on this site.

"if you promise that you will not ever die i will make love to you this minute"

"i promise i will never die"

In what alternate reality do you live where any poll indicates that? Regardless of how you feel about either candidate, almost all polling indicates Obama with a lead of several points. Granted we are still a few months out, but as of now Obama, is most likely the winner.

Also, OP, you need to step away from the keyboard for a while.

Fair point, but the question is would Gore have done anything differently after 9/11? Hard to say.

And Brent, of course Bill Maher has met Obama, but once again, that doesn't mean he agrees with him on every thing or will do every thing he wants. I'm sure when Bill Maher met the president he wasn't saying, 'those god damn Muslims and their stupid Prophet Mohammad.'

i dont care i just know Obama a fool and fuckin dis shit upppp.

btw blame Clinton he fucked us. glass stteeeeaaagggaallll niggie

so if you hear less they are automatically better. im not going to side either way here as far as who is better but jesus the news is biased. you either watch republican news or democrat news in the US. assuming it is similar in Canada and seeing as Canada is far more liberal than the US.... you hear less negative news because your news favors the current president over past republican ones. Don't let the media think for you
