Anthems vs. Afterbangs

so im 5'7" and 130 pounds. i live in southern VT and ski at stratton.
right now im skiing on a 161 invader. i know the anthems come in a 171 and are most likely going to be $400. i believe the afterbangs are coming in a 166(?) and a 177(?) and i believe they will be anywhere from $330 to $360.
i will most likely have these skis for the next 2 years and i was wondering which ski i should buy. im a big fan of line and i know i will not be dissapointed (spelling) in either ski. i ski all park and whenever there is pow thats where im at.
advice please

Cole I've heard super good things about both, but you could get Anthems in May for way cheaper. You should try Jason's Invaders, those are 171, and see how you like a longer ski. I know I'm going for the 177 Afterbangs
Or you could go in a different direction and get the Blends, which are supposed to handle pow really well, but still slay the park

ive skied jason's 171s and they are pretty perfect. im skiing a 169 kung fujas for the rest of the year so i still have a lot of time to decide. and ya they will be cheaper but next years a "totally" sick.''
blends are quite a bit wide for me. and the kungs are 95 so ill see how i like that.

Eh I'm not a huge fan of the snowboarder graphic. Some guy was selling the EP special edition models in 171 for $250 on here

well you know that anthems are good, there's not really enough info out on the afterbangs to base a decision off it, you could wait until more people have skied them to get the full lowdown on them

ya, people will be skiing on them this summer so ill know then. maybe ill get out to hood and try em out.
right now im heading toward the anthems unless i grow a little more

yo dude i have octolands and they are the sickest ski ever...theyre super soft, but handle big jumps great. they dont wash out.such a fun ski.

If its between these two skis only i would say the anthem because it will handle more all mtn. The afterbangs are gonna be dope but for what your doing the anthem will do a better job.

Will afterbangs be very heavy? If theyre made of wood will they be a heavier ski than a foam core? (this may sound stupid but I really don't know)

I have only skied on wood core skis and there sick, i hear the afterbangs are actually gonna be lighter then a traditional wood ski while still being just as strong and maintaining just as much pop. The new construction is going to be crazy.

Cole i'd go with the Anthem. Give them time to perfect the Afterbang and the whole horizontal laminated idea. Also if i were you i'd pick up some of this years anthems for really cheap at the end of this season, unless u like boarders on your skis (i think its kinda funny actually). And also Kyle loves his anthems (even though they don't have the carbon olliband).Go with the 171 too. going from 161 too 177 might be a big transitiongood luck!
